Avatar bug

My desired avatar won't appear on either the forums or the backpage.
It's sized correctly and in jpeg format.
It says it's uploaded but it keeps reverting to the old image

Help?



IS what I want. clicked okay and it doesn't change....


EDIT: I don't know how long it'll take to fix it but if possible could a moderator or someone with access change the avatar for me for the time being?
If so, let me know and I'll create an image link.

Can you please try the following;

1. Go to the page to change your avatar
2. Tick the box "Delete current avatar?"
3. Click Okay
4. Refresh the page, and open up the avatar page/pop-up again
5. Try now to add your new avatar

I just attempted this on account and it seemed to work, i hope this helps in your case.

May I ask what browser you are using? It shouldn't make a difference in theory. I presume thats the latest version of chrome seraphim?

 

As relax mentioned, it doesn't work. I tried that method several times already (sorry for not mentioning it earlier).

Avatar Test:

Your avatar works for me. Try a different browser and make sure you don't have any Add-ons on the browsers that may block certain scripts.

 

Still doesn't work for me. Tried using firefox as well as chrome. I only have ad block on which wasn't a problem when updating my avatar in the past. Nevertheless I tried with ad block off but still no avail

Try uninstalling the browser, go to your registry, remove the browser from registry. Then restart computer and redownload the browser and try again.

Also, try this:

With that image on your computer, try to upload the image to imgur.com. If it is successful, right click the image, click "Save as" and try to use that version of the image.

If that don't work, load the image as Paint and change the image file to .png and try to use that image as a avatar.

If that don't work, open up your command prompt.

For a Board Admin who has access to the Xenforo Admin CP. What you can check is:

You can fix certain image errors on the board by going to:

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> Attachments -> Default Image Processor

On the board directory side. The possible issue is that their addons are causing problems to images. Best way to fix it is by disabling all Addons on the forums and then trying again. Then if it works, turn on each add on 1 at a time till you find the problem again.

 

Few things:
The avatar upload is a direct upload of an image file from our files. Imgur won't be of any effect. Avatar must be a jpeg or gif image (for either the backpage or forums) I've tried both but of no avail. I did upload it to imgur though. Dunno how it'll help but here it is:

There are no errors with the image itself. I tried to upload several other images in its stead but all of them revert to that old avatar.

I believe it's a bug with the avatar system.

Hopefully the issue will be sorted from the developers side.

 

Yea the reason why I asked you to put it on imgur is to see if you can actually upload it.

It most likely a bug created by a plugin or not having the image processing system at default. Usually when you try to change stuff, things tend to bug out.

I know, I'm an admin of my own community forum, I broken my own stuff too XD

 

I haven't changed a thing. Everything is set to default with respect to images (from my part anyway). The only add on I've got is ad block. But I've tried with the add on switched off and it doesn't work.

 

Forum Plug in* not Browser plug in. Its something you cant control

I notice that you no longer have an avatar next your name, have you tried to add your new avatar since?

This issue is very strange since i was able to change avatars on a personal account without any issue.

As for MethicSkull, no we do not have access to Admin CP so we are unable to check the issue internally.

Then support should be the one to go to since they have to check internal stuff.
