Captcha for Auctions

OK, I don't mind having to put in a captcha code for the auction but if the picture is so light you cant read it and you fail you can't bid without a reload? trying to outbid someone at the last sec and you get one of these popups to punch in a code can really be annoying, I can see it 1 time an hour but 4 times in the same auction? really??? man those programs must really be causing a problem. Good to see that DO is trying to cut down on the cheating, but dang a real person trying to outbid people quickly this causing a real problem....

 

Maybe if they added a window of time to that authentication. You could do the captcha and its' good for a minutes time. I had been complaining about auction botting for some time so I do appreciate the fact that action is being taken. Would have liked to see them just flat out ban the goofballs doing it and I do have a few suspects in mind..lol.

 

What CAPTCHA? Am I missing something? I just bid on an item and it just went through.

 

After you bid on 5 items or so in a very small amount of time (maybe 30s), you get a window pop up on the next bid submission (right after it) telling you to punch in a code to let you keep bidding. Some speed bidders (like me :>) bid quite fast in the last min., and we run into them.

 

Oh, ok, maybe they put that in thinking there might be some program possibly doing the bidding. No wonder I have not been privy to this. I am not in that much of a hurry to bid on so much at a time.

 

I have had this happen to me. I did find it annoying but if folks keep cheating with outside run programs whata going to do. Anyway I would like them to fix the email notices they pretty much don't work at all. I get the notices after auction is over so it always looks like I'm still the highest bidder til the end of the auction. That stinks. Even refreshing the page does not fix that issue. anyway have fun all.

 

My auction page takes forever to load and in a minutes time I can barely get 2 or 3 bids in. Doubt I'll be seeing the captcha code but hey, at least they are doing something. Cheaters are nothing but dirt. My pity for them is zero.

prometheis2000[ITGS], The system is set to prevent rapid bidding that would commonly be associated with scripts. Unfortunately you are just too fast !
