Changes to reseting pilot bio.

Reseting the pilot bio is too expensive, it doubles each time you reset it, starting from 1000 uridium. But it's not free to reset it because that would be too op right? but doubling the uridium required after each reset seems too much, so no one really resets their pilot bio anymore because it's just too expensive. How about : You can only reset your pilot bio 2 times a month? and each time it costs 10.000 uridium. People would actually use the reset function and it still would be balanced because you can do it only 2 times a month.

 

This idea seems nice, but I am not sure as it may have drawbacks. For example, if I feel like boxing much I can just reset it for 10k and box for months and make insane uridium. After that 10k uridium won't be too big deal for anyone, so everyone can reset back.

I don't know really, the current system won't let you do this (I mean, teoretically you can of course, but it will cost you much so it won't be worth doing).

I wanna see other opinions too.

 

I agree that it does need changes. I advanced extremely fast in the game. Two months in and have enough pilot points to do fats. I would LOVE to use my unused 8 pilot points that are waiting on me that I can use because of not enough sep. I want to apply them on things that dont cost me sep. For example put 4/5 on shield mechanics, wait the other 5000 sep to produce and put the other 7 pilot points on head seeking or such but I can't because uridium costs would go crazy.

In my opinion what could be done is that the uridium cost to reset lowers weekly just like the honor you lose for killing someone.

 

Wait...are we on this subject again? I thought it just got closed out like a couple weeks ago? Almost 3 years in and another reset for me would be 15200, but wait, I am not resetting again unless I mess up and that should not happen. It is set up the way it is to make you think and plan. Anything else would just be exploited. Unlike me when I started, look at the options available and formulate a plan that you feel will work for you. I don't box, not seriously box anyways, so I do not use any of the boxing options. Formulate a working plan and you will not have to worry about the reset cost because you won't need to.

 

Some aspects of the game get boring over time, for instance PvP is fun sometimes but after a while you find yourself wanting to farm NPCs; ok, not to bad you can set Alien hunter and PvP at the same time. Well Aliens get boring as well and your still bored of PvP so you want to Switch to go drop BIO mines on people ... wait you can't you have to reset the bio; hey you want to box, wait you cant because you have to reset your bio....



Agreed something needs to be done about the reset cost; because some of us do get tired of running the same bio and; no one in their right mind is going to pay 358,400 Uridium for a bio reset....

 

Starting from the last, I know I won't pay that much for a reset. I can use that and more to either do some upgrades or help in getting my next 5 PP on US West.

Now back to the beginning, I do think the OP has a valid point when it comes to controls. A twice a month limit seems justifiable, and limiting the reset price to something realistic only makes since. Most players don't have hundreds of uri just sitting around so it stands to reason that most players would think about when they are going to do a switch. I am thinking a little more than the 10k suggestion but not into the hundreds please, maybe just double.

I have had time to think about this some more. I still don't plan to do another reset on my us west account but my others will have at least one when they get further built up. As I have never done a reset on any of them, it will be cheap under the current system but who knows if something will change.

Evolution, you are correct when you say it gets boring doing the same thing all the time, however I don't get changing it just for boxing, or for mines. I do know a lot of people that have theirs set for such, I guess I am just out of the loop. I personally think boxing and collecting pally is the most boring part of the game and I pally all the time now. Makes me want to cut off my right arm sometimes... But I really don't get the change bio now for this, change it now for that. I leave mine for pvp/pve and just go do everything. I realize I could be missing out on some goods but that is my decision and my right.

The OP has a right to voice his/her opinion in order to possibly get some movement on changes and I do not want it to seem like I am putting the entire thing down. Well maybe I was. At any rate that they reset is set at, I can use that for my bio building and upgrades.

If you have allot of pp's you can plan and set them just the way you want and almost never need to reset them, but not many ppl have 40+ pp's i for example have 29 at the momment. And im not spending my uridium for pps so im stuck with 29 for quite a long time, so i can't utilize them for all 3 things = pvp, boxing and npc killing. Easter boxes will probably be out soon, many people would reset their bio and set it up for boxing and maybe even buy doubler, but they can't because reseting bio is too expensive. Even if you set it for boxing, you are stuck with that bio for a long long time but what if boxing gets boring after 1 week already? I just want to do many things in DO, and the uridium cost of reseting bio forces me to do only one task in the game. Well not one task, i can do all of them but with less profit. Also building up bio costs allot of seprom.

Or maybe.. how about : If you haven't reseted your bio in 3 months, the uridium required to reset it goes back to 1k.

Lol yes I really needed to reset it for my climg into the top 10, needed the honor bio really badly 178k didn't sound to bad at the time but double that is simply outrageous.
