Chat Broken - Day 3 - How about an update - 4/26/15

 

How about it's a weekend? They are people as all of the others normal people out there, so they need a rest from work too.

 

We are aware that the chat is broken, we have submitted the issue on to have the cause of the issue investigated. However the chat went down over the weekend and we are still awaiting a response. As you may see volunteer moderators here over the weekends, generally those who work from the Main office are not available over weekends. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

When your product is broke especially a online game like this one someone should be on call all the time to fix things like this.

 

As I said above on my post, people can't work 24/7 without break. By tomorrow, it will be fixed don't worry..

One more thing, if you are a programmer there is no thing "on a call". Being a programer is a difficult job. I will tell you personally, fixing bugs can take you 1 hour, or 5 days and you may not still solve the issue. You have no idea how big is the code behind this game, and how many things need to be tested if they work correctly or not, so they can actually understand where the bug in the code is. Thus said, if developers on Sunday get in BP offices to fix this problem with chat, they may not be able to solve the issue. Why? I have said above.

So, before flaming the DO developers for everything, think twice, especially if you don't know their job.

 

Guys my advice to you all is too be patient with the team. they have always fixed problems and still will

I work for a 24/7 company. It is called shifts. When you operate a company 24/7, then you have to have people there to fix issues. Always been that way. If DO does not have people working shifts keeping the company running 24/7 then they have a major problem and it should be stated as such in the agreement we all sign in order to play here. Other wise it can be considered fraud, deception, and credits should be issued to paying customers for the product they pay for not in working order. So please stop with the excuses all the time when there are issues. It makes sense now why with all the issues it takes forever to fix or to get any response from anyone. Not a great way to run a company. 24 /7 means we never close. That seems not to be the case here.

 

Excuses? Sorry bud, I don't excuse for them. Programming companies that work 24/7 are rare, sorry about that too. Understood that or not, the job is as it is. Enough said.

 

i think...in a different approach; broken chat has been some what beneficial. our companies are working together, hunting and protecting better and getting along. some times; our words can start wars...i will, how ever; be thankful when our chat is once again restored 8)..keep up the hard work DO

Thank you for the support for us Coders and Programmers we do work hard whether its making games better fixing bugs or building software for companies. We all have big problems that we dont want to fix but hay thats what we signed up for when we took on the computer world.

 

Never said they should work 24/7 just that someone should be on call 24/7 to fix problems or at least work on them read before you post please. Good Gaming all.

 

always fixed problems? you new or something? Cause that's a lie. We still waiting on a bug to be fixed and rewards to be put out for it from months ago.


Anyways, it's taking them too long to fix such a simple problem. I'm no programmer, but something such as a chat system is no where near as hard as some of the things they have bothered to fix.


Willing to bet, after its FINALLY fixed, there's gonna be NO compensation even with the problems chat being down has caused for players, and ruined gameplay.

 

My post may be late but chat hasn't work for more then a week...
Do anyone knows when this problem would be fix?

Why should they compensate us for a broken chat? If you couldn't play sure, compensation is in order. But compensate because you can't trash talk in chat?

 

Compensate for a broken feature in-game. Although yeah i missed the trash talk, i couldn't deal with a lot of diplomatic issues in chat or a ts because the ts i needed to go to was down. Chat was only other way and that was STILL down. If a function in a game doesn't work, it calls for compensation. Besides that, DO owes us for years of broken stuff so might wanna start now.

 

Absolutely, I am a programmer my self, so I know preety good what means fixing bugs in game/software. It's hard work, and takes time. Just other players need to understand this, fixing bugs is not an easy, cool thing to do in free time.

I won't add anything to this anymore, I have posted enough about being a programmer. If you don't understand this job, at least try to trust in my words, if you want to.

 

Its kind of nice not having chat running as a distraction but I doubt we see any compensation. This going out over the weekend just adds to player frustration as there will not be a full team on deck to reset or fix the problem. I agree DO does have a serious problem. It is called not being able to hire enough qualified programmers to take care of all the issues. And for them to set a team to work through the weekend, seriously, no big company likes a lot of paid employees to work on the weekend unless that is all they work. German's like everyone else like their time off, especially on the weekends, and I know from being in Germany myself, there are a ton of events for someone to participate in over there, outside of this game. I would like to see the chat fixed but I am not holding my breath as of when it will happen.

 

Just in case you don't know they do not compensate for anything. When I have asked about it when game is unplayable I get 2 responses. Silence or blaming me for the game being unplayable lol.
