I regretfully do not allow my kids to play anymore. It seems that the larger, stronger clans feel that they are allowed to use bad language when they feel because (as I was told) we are the --- clan and we can do whatever we want because support allows us to and will never get banned for anything we say. Hmmmm really. See there is one problem with that. The terms of agreement we all signed has a few things to say about that. And if it is true that Dark Orbit is allowing the big spenders to run the game and make their own rules then they are opening themselves up for massive suits because they are in violation of their own rules. The chats need to be watched and patroled if you are allowing minors to play and to keep the sanity in the game. Hiv, gay jokes, racism all go on in chat everyday with no punishment or penalty because Dark Orbit is not watching and does not care. They are too busy counting the money that has led to empty maps and people leaving everyday.

The moderators are volunteers, they are counting no money for doing the job.

It's a bad situation but if there is no mod in chat you can always report it to support to make sure it doesn't go without being dealt with - nobody is immune to chat rules. You can also turn off chat in settings, that would allow them to continue playing without seeing chat.

    Hello,

    Thank you Okapi

Firstly, as said above, those of us moderating the chats are volunteers, and volunteer our time to try and assist by moderating the forums/chat. We aren't paid, so there's no money for us to be counting ourselves.

Big spenders and/or big clans have no bearing on whether or not we, or support, will penalize someone if an offense occurs. I know not everyone believes when we say that, and - for lack of a better word - rumors will continue that clans or players are protected for whatever reason but it really is just not the case.

We do our best to keep the chats and forums covered but unfortunately we aren't always there when needed or one reason or another. This isn't a case of whether or not we care (I am sure I speak for most if not all when I say that we do), sometimes it's simply a matter of time or ability - it's not always just one or three rooms needing our assistance at once. Again, as Okapi advised above, if we don't seem to be around, you can always report what's occurred. Whether you report it to us here in the forums (chat area) or to support is up to you.

On that note, we're always looking for more moderators, and those interested are welcome to apply. All of the information on how to apply to the moderating team can be found here within our own forums.

    Regards,

  4. Usually, when I report a chat issue I'm asked for a screenshot which is impossible if chat is moving fast. Copy-paste with time, chat details should be enough. A lot of us are frustrated with the inability of DO to control behavior in the game chat -- volunteers aside.

  5. I have never been asked for a 'screenshot' of a purely chat issue! Server, and time, with a copy of the chat considered to be offending , can assist the ChatMods to retrospectively deal with a situation

  6. How nice for you.... the last 5 times I tried to report chat behavior issues I was told to provide a screenshot and when I challenged Kara on it I was told "it has always been that way" which is not true. Been in this game since 2007 and it used to be enough. Support is a major reason my wallet is CLOSED.

Sorry that you have had a bad experience in the past and I hope we can avoid it happening again. If you have a purely chat issue to report you can go to support or you can post in the chat section of the forum (which is private). The main thing we need to follow up a chat issue if you cannot get a screenshot is the Server name, The room, The time and the players name. You also need to do this as soon as possible after any incident as we cannot scroll back through hours of chat looking for an incident. I will add that we cannot look up chats in private rooms, outfit or clan chats. In these rooms a screenshot is essential as there is no record kept once the rooms are closed or empty in the case of clanchat.

    I hope that this helps
    Regards

  8. surely people will claim a screen shot can be doctored

  9. I have to say that the 'body' of this thread seems to have been answered without suggesting any hocus-pocus

  10. See you concur what I always knew... and I've always gotten as much info as possible and immediately messaged support. This included a copy past of the pertinent chat messages including context, timestamp, etc. However, some folks in support need to be on the same page too. I know Support works on a ticketing system and needs to close tickets within a timeframe as part of their productivity metrics. That shouldn't take precedence over good customer service. But thank you HarleyD for your response.

  11. Enjoy the game.

Closing as lack of response from OP.
