chat window will not work

As of the 12/25/13 my chat window has not worked . tried many things to fix from relogging and cleaning cache to using a new browser. I get half the post sometimes only a word or two. Real tuff to do mission behind enemy lines when you can use the chat window. Please fix. Thanks

Well today is 12/27/13 . I still have this issue and still have not even got a respones from DO. Like I've said, I've tried everything. None of the steps I have been told on other issues seams to work. This is day 3 that the chat window will only give me every third word or the last few words type. Can Someone from the Tech dept. At least take a look?

Re posted these in this part of the forum because I seam to get no answer from the Teck issues part of the forum. Hopefully this will help. Sure not getting any help from the teck dept.

Log out of the game... go to your browser and clear the history (I know you have done this before) - Please humor me!

Then go to the flash player - here is a link>

Delete All the websites in the Website Storage setting Panel.

Then re-log in to the Game, Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

This actually sounds like a similar issue I have been having as well. It will work for a few minutes, then stall then burst about 2-3 minutes worth of posts or just reset completely. I posted a thread about this as well.

I have attempted everything you posted, Poseidon. It did not help.

 

Well did all of the above and now I still have no working chat window. Its a little different now I do not even given the choice of Global or VRU . So I guess I'd have to say it didn't work again. Tried all this before I posted looking for help. Whats next?

LazarusAdam I saw in the posting that you were have something of the same issue. You would think if it is happing to 2 of us it's gotta be in the game system.

Well thanks what ever you did worked This morning when I logged on I had my chat window back and it's working fine. So Far.

 

My chat works just fine. I didn't have any problems with chat except occasionally when I tried scrolling the msgs below it's "limit" and it stops scrolling automatically whenever someone posts a new msg. Other then this, chat is working fine for me.

 

Back to square one. only see part of postings in chat window " no full post " only the "last part" of each post. Now I just logged on And like always Clean cache before logging on. The steps above didn't work last time. Hopefully it go away faster this time!

 

I have had this, I just had to keep re-logging and clearing cache till it worked. Always seems to happen when enemies are raiding.

 

This morning All of the above did nothing to fix the issue with the chat window. At reset time after relogging back into the game I got use of the chat window once again. This has nothing to do with the my computer, It is plain and simple a glich in the game that needs to be address by support or whom ever. Thanks for all your answers. Next time I'll try support. You can close, problem can't be solved using the forum.

again same issue chat window is not working only showing last few words of all post. Hopefully reset will fix it. Lets face it The team at Dark Orbit just will not responed with any usefull info they always give the same old list that will not work. That gets old real fast.

okay got it back with reset one more time. I really wish someone from Big Point would at least tell me they are working on this issue.

 

MMM I can see them saying they are looking into it, but that's the last you will here from them on the subject, I have sent many account problems in, just to not hear if it has been fixed.

 

LazarusAdam Are you still dealing with the same issue on the chat window? If so Please post how your chat window has been acting and if you get it back after reset. Just maybe If a few start posting how it's acting we may be able to help this fix along. Well that is if Big Point is even looking we still don't know that.No one but PoseidonsFury the forum moderator has even tried to help. Sorry Poseidon but that list hardly ever work's. It's seams like the generic answer that is given for all troubles we have with the game not working right by Big Point.

 

Star*Fire, I have still been having this issue. I just chalk it up to the things Dream Demon has said about their answers. The Mods and Admins here are given a script to work from with canned answers to "every" issue. It is getting rediculous.

 

I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing this type of issue. In the past we have had players who have this type of issue and found it beneficial for them to uninstall and reinstall the flash player.

As this is not a guaranteed fix, but it has worked in the past.

Still have a broken chat window. Most of the time it comes back after reset then goes off sometime doring the day. Then it will not repair it's self till reset again. That didn't take place today. 1/0/14 reset didn't fix it. Tried your new atempt of reinstalling my flash player buy that did nothing. Sorry to point this out but your system has a bug not mine. got any more tricks you wish to try?

Still have the same issue with chat. will only work right after server reset. Have tried every thing asked and nothing fixs the issue. Contacted support and was asked to repete all of the above. Will see if they can fix it. Don't get why they wish for you to keep redoing the same stuff that has never worked no matter how many times you've done them. silly

 

i have no problem with my chat. Have you tried using a different browser? Sometimes browsers will automatically stop supporting Java which I'm pretty sure is what Darkorbit uses to run the chat. please correct me if I'm wrong anyone

 

We have tried using multiple browsers and cleared every available cache and even cleaned out cookies. It is something internal at BP and DO. We have done everything the Mods have posted and nothing has worked.

 

Hmm, and you have Java installed on your computer? the latest version? I'm pretty sure they use java for the chat. Try uninstalling adobe and java then reinstalling them. Thats the only thing i can think of, and make sure java and adobe are updated to the latest version

 

I also have experienced chat not working and or background not working my best solution is logging out and back in fixes this problem as well also using a different web browser is suggested to if need be

Well today is the first time in awhile that the reset didn't give me my chat back. I have support looking into it. As of yesterday they have not gotten back to me. Hopefully they can fix it. Did the standard clean everything after reset nothing worked just like always.
