Classic newbie fear. Am I good enough for Alpha?

Hi everyone,

Some might remember me from my other threads. I just finished building Alpha, and even though I kind of want to just jump in and face whatever comes to me, I'm afraid I waste my chance with this gate. So tell me forum, do you think I'm good enough for Alpha?

My ships: Goliath, Aegis

-25 lf3 (10 lvl5)
-15 B02 (1 lvl5)
-Hellstorm Launcher 2
-15 G3N-7900
-Full extras
-8 lvl 6 Iris
-1 Herc drone design
-P.E.T. lvl 8 without any upgrade
*Gears: Kami lvl 1 & 2, Auto looter lvl3, Auto resource collector lvl 3)
(Might buy kami lvl3, depends on what you guys say)

Do you think I'll be able do it? I really want to get done with this gate.
Please tell me your tricks and what you think is useful when doing gates.

*Extra question* What about zeta? Haven't started that one yet but I want to know if I can beat that gate too with what I've got.

kami lvl 3 makes gates very easy the hardest part is getting aliens on top of pet when he kami's

2 ways of doing this well many but these easy to explain

first - let the aliens surround you you will have to take damage till the stop then your pet will kami them instantly then fly off rep and repeat

second way this for the harder hitter aliens - flying away from group of aliens turn kami on now fly thru the group keep going they will hit you on your way through and pet will start setting up for kami the pet takes a few seconds when the target is moving to do the kami here wheres timing and practice comes in you need to turn around and drag the group back over where your pet set to kami it all happens pretty quick but you can get most of the group with this method like i said it takes practice i would suggest trying on the easier npcs in the beginning waves to get the feel for it after all's said and done fly away and rep up and repeat

also another trick when you got all them little kris in the corner bad idea to try to stand toe to toe with them if you get a lock on one and set kami up you can take radiation damage in the rad zone and will set you pet into action to kami the pile as long as you got a lock on one of them which you can get without getting anywhere near their range

as for zeta gate i feel if experiences in kami methods you can do most gates well maybe not hades with just being FE

 

there was even better way, idk if that still works didnt play for last 4 months and havent do any gate since new client update.
so here is how it goes, first when doing this dont be in group and take lasers of off pet. basically it is like this lock on your pet and when you start getting dmg set kami on and shoot on your pet, you cant kill it but it explode right after that every time on almost all npcs.
i was doing all 3 gg's with this tactic all gates even BK's. alpha 10 kamis betta 20 gamma 30 for BK's, they go to corner.
good tactic for saving serpom...

 

You can do Alpha for sure. You can even do Beta and Gamma too. They are not that hard, you just need to circle/pull NPC properly.

According to me, Zeta is even easier than Alpha. So yeah, go on with Zeta too

PS. One advice: before doing a gate, watch some videos on YouTube how other players did that particular gate. You will get better feeling what and how to do

PPS. Moth formation does HELP A LOT in gates. I would advice you to take Moth formation first if you don't have it, than go on in gates like a boss Will cut off on half the time required to complete the gate, and you won't bother with NPC shields, which sometimes knows to be too much.

 

you can easily do alpha and all the other gates. lvl 3 kami is essential to cut down on time and ammo, but like everyone above said its the timing of when the kami goes off it can be hard to get right lol. R u premium cause if not its gonna cost a lot of uri to keep repping that pet after kami. good luck

 

If you have premium do every wave with kami 3
If you don't have premium, then do at least sibelonits, kristallins and protegits with kami, takes only 2 detonations to clear whole wave

You can also do Zeta easily Just make sure you have enough seprom for lasers and it will be faster. And like stated above, you can even do Gamma with that ship. With premium I usually do my Gamma's without firing a single shot, just gathering everything in a big pile and booom!

 

Just did Alpha yesterday!
Phew, I really was able to do it without much trouble. (Had to use non-prem kami tho, 12 times, worth it )

Next time try to not use kami if you are not premium, you will make higher profit. On the waves where it gets though, use x3 with Seprom Zeta is easier gate by the way.

 

Zeta is much easier and one of the easiest. You'd be surprised.

 

I've done the gates every way from Sunday and the easiest is to go in with plenty of ammo saved up and blast away. The kami thing is very tedious. And def don't do the kami if ur not premium.

I've done whole gates just kami, very boring but it works if you are out of ammo and have premium.

Unless ur set on completing the kronos gate, don't even bother with any gate except zeta until you get stronger.
Like everyone said it's by far the easiest gate compared to the rewards.

Since you can fly and rep at the same time, just run a suicide config and do gates, preferably with moth formation on.

all speed on ship all lasers on drones.

When you do the last wave, switch to a veteran design to boost the xp reward.
