Cold Wave Gate

Sooooo....

What's the secret to finishing the 3rd wave? Icy's keep poppin' outta the Skoll (good name BTW, sounds like chewy terbaccy)

Any help/hints?

shoot a few volley back away shoot a few vollys back away kami if you can on the skoll
it doesnt spawn icy if it doesnt target for freeze rocket...did both easy and hard in a 2 iris 5 flax 15 lf3s 8 bo2s and 4 pp goli it isnt hard nor impossible just takes skill

 

if you dont kill the skoll then it keeps spawning smaller NCP's.

I just used my Kami and shot a few shots of 4x with credit rockets..backed off and repeated until dead. Took about 35 min and only had 3 waves of Icy's come out. Patience and timing...never stay around it long enough for it to freeze you.

 

I haven't done the hard gate skoll yet, but for the easy one I sat near the top left (the place where the skoll flees to) and shot the skoll until it spawned icys. I had diamond form on and lots of shield and i was in an aegis so the icys posed no threat. I popped one icy, then rocket'd the skoll to prevent it's shield from regenerating. once all the icys were popped I shot the skoll full on untill more icys appeared. when it had half hp and no shield left, i circled it on speed config and destroyed it.

Without kami^ all with x1 ammo, no sep and credit rockets. took a bit long.

If anyone has done the hard gate skoll without kami, could you share your tactic?

 

i did it in a noob ship qith lvl 2 kami but same as first just dont stick around it long enough to target you for a freeze rocket....im sure you noticed that it only spawns icy at certain points in sheild or hp

 

Yeah, I thought it was hp as i took out its shield a few times and it didn't ice rocket me until the hp started decreasing (to an extent).

Trouble is, For the easy gate, i could pop an icy and rocket the skoll just in time so it wouldn't start to regen its shield, but the hard gate icys take a lot more time to pop and the skoll would no doubt regen its shield before i pop an icy.

Once i finish it, i'll let everyone know. I plan on using credit ammo (and no kami) throughout.

hehe, I almost had half of the skoll destroyed. but got caught in an ice rocket and the icy's got me

Atm I'm not premmed so I'm using sepped x1, eco and sar-01 hellstorms, the 2k rockets, aegis and diamond form.

I figure i might save up for moth to quickly destroy the skoll and then use a couple of kamis for the remaining icys.. (got no choice it seems).

I'm circling the skoll on speed config. \i run when the red reticle appears to avoid the ice rocket. I figure i could've got the skoll if i didn't get caught in the ice rocket.

EDIT: No I will not use kami. A principle I will stick by. I'll do the gate without kami.
