  1. Why not bring out something interesting like a ring that is colour coded? Now my Idea allows players to really see the nature of the other players flying around them, opening up a new evolution to the game.

There will be 4 colours for everyone to choose from! (More Idea's will influence this one)

    • Red = Aggressive
    • Green = Mutual
    • Orange = Cautious
    • Blue = Defensive
Have one of the 4 colour coded rings beside the name of the player, depending on what colour they have chosen you can detect that players objective. Having a green colour you can easily differentiate between a peaceful player and a player that is Red!

This feature would do nothing to benefit stats of all equipment, despite whether the player is green it can still be shot down regardless. The colour coding system just allows players to make decisions and to open up a new way to challenge obstacles.

It's a rather simple Idea but I thought I would share it anyway, hope you guys can contribute!

I like it. It would make it a little more diverse. I understand how all of them would work, EXCEPT for blue. How would someone obtain a blue ring?

  3. Well all 4 rings are available to all with no cost, it would just be a function to use. Blue however, I would think defensive would mean that the player won't attack anyone in an aggressive form but they will shoot back if someone shoots first. It would keep players aware that blue players will defend them selves in that circumstance.

Oh ok, so most people would have a blue ring at all times. Let's say that you have a red ring, how long does it take to get rid of the red ring? Or if you have a blue ring, and then shoot someone, does that automatically turn into a red ring? How would that work?

  5. Entirely your choice, if you wanted to go on a hunt and wanted people to know you mean business then you would switch to red for example. You could go in to settings and switch the feature off so that just like switching off drones it won't appear. It's something however that would influence the growth of the game but I would need to think of a pretty accurate hypothesis so that a feature like this would be implemented smoothly.

Ooooooh, I thought that the game would automatically change it for you.

I don't like it. People would just abuse it like they do with everything else that doesn't have a stop-gap measure in place.

Hostiles would put on a green or blue ring to trick players into being passive around them until they get a lock and then kill them all the same. We already have NAP and Alliance to do this anyway.

If the ring was not optional (I would prefer a simple Jolly Roger flag myself) and could be used to identify those that frequently fire on their own company members (clan warfare would not be counted) then I could see it being useful.

I know we have a pirate rank for this, but it isn't enough. Players just shoot their own company members enough to make them get out of locking range so they can steal the alien kill; since they didn't kill the other player, they can continue to do this with zero repercussions. I see nothing wrong with enemy companies doing this to each other, but inter-company attacks need to be moderated more - it is ruining player retention.

What I see being most useful is: You get a time-limited flag for firing on your company members and while you are flagged, anyone can kill you as if you were an enemy (it would allow people to fight back without being punished). The time limit would continue to increase as long as they continue to engage in this behavior. Once the time limit exceeds a set mark, honor is deducted every time they fire on a company member for the remainder of the time limit or until they lose enough honor to become permanently ranked as a pirate under the current system.

Honor deduction needs to be a percentage (like switching companies) instead of a set amount per ship type as well, but that is another topic.
