Community Workshop

Ok so most of you probably did not understand what I mentioned above so I'll try to make it clear as much as I can. Most people who have ideas for guns, ships and ship designs just say what stats they want and then "Please, make this". I say there must be someplace where where you can upload 2D or 3D file so everyone can say if they want it or not. And if "yes" then make ideas for the stats. The hard working people could get their gem in game if it is accepted. Thanks for your time.

 

This isn't really necessary. Most people just upload a picture of what it looks like (if they already have a picture or found a picture) and put it in the regular post. Why do we need to add another section just to separate them?

 

I guess you're right but again almost all of the people just write the stats and that is all. So think of it as some form of control.

 

I'm guessing you got this idea from Valve with TF2 and DotA2 etc? The drive for community makers there is that they get a small cut of all the sales of any items they make and that are put in the game.
The problem is if DO were to add in designs they would be for stupid prices £10+ and so on.

If the designs were too be added they would have to be for prices such as £2 or £3 at maximum. They would also have to be done so that they were just aesthetic, no new abilities that people think will work be good; if it was to have 5% damage then for people to use the community-made design they would need to have got the enforcer first.

Don't get me wrong, I would love this feature as I could probably benefit from it ^^, but I fear DO would charge way too much for designs they didn't make and not credit the content makers in anyway.

 

Well the glove has been thrown. If Bigpoint likes it they would "customise" it. Let's see where the wind will blow.
