    I typically start a conversation with a friendly greeting such as "Hi, how are you."

    but really how do i use the conversation thing in forums?

    It does not work. The moderators have stated that there are a bunch of little problems such as the conversation ability that are either not currently working, or are not allowed and have yet to be removed.

    Conversations are used by the Moderators to notify players when they receive a Warning. Since any disputes over moderation issues should go through Support, they are usually just brief details about the nature of the offense.
