Cyber Bullying within Dark Orbit

What is Cyber Bullying?

Cyber bullying is the continuous verbal harassment of another player within the Dark Orbit Community.

This includes: Personal threats made in reference to your Real life, Sharing personal information, making Offensive and or inappropriate remarks in the chat system or forums.

This does include comments made to player, Moderators, Admins and Support.

A cyber bully is a member that continually seeks out one or more other members to verbally interfere with their game play.

Is being killed repeatedly considered Cyber Bullying?

No,

As this is a Player verses Player battle style game, players will shoot at other players within the game. Larger players shooting lower level players is part of the game. Please keep in mind that at one point in time, all players were lower level players.

What is a players responsibility when they feel they are being bullied:

Players who feel they are being bullied within the chat :

1. Take a screenshot of the issue.

2. Copy and paste the players in game name:

3. Contact support and provide the following:

· Your Ship name

· User ID

· Server you are playing

· Screenshot of issue

· Players in game username, causing issues


Players who feel they are being bullied within the forums :


1. Contact support and provide the following:

· Your Ship name

· User ID

· Server you are playing

· Forums User name causing issue


2. Provide a link to the forums Post where the issue occurred.


How is Cyber Bullying handled?

Any player that is seen in chat or forums by a moderator, a ban will be issued at the time of occurrence. In the event that a moderator is not available, it is the players responsibility to contact support to request the matter be reviewed.

At the point that a players has been sent to support for cyber bullying, a review of their chat logs / Forums Posts will be evaluated. This includes Chat history, previous bans and chat extensions as well as Forums infractions.

Players with continued in-game chat issues / Forums issue, do run the risk of account suspension.

Stages of Action(Chat)
1st Offense will recieve a 12 hr chat ban
2nd Offense will receive a 2day chat ban.
3rd Offense will receive 7day chat ban and 2 day account suspension.
4th Offense will receive 7day account suspension and 30day chat ban.
5th Offense will receive Permanent/ip ban.

Stages of Action(Forum)
1st Offense will receive a 3 day forums ban
2nd Offense will receive a 5 day forums ban.
3rd Offense will receive 2 week forums and 2 day account suspension.
4th Offense will receive 30day forums 7day account suspension
5th Offense will receive Permanent/ip ban.

We would like to make you all aware that the continued accusations being made towards the members of the moderator team will not be tolerated. These people volunteer their time working to keep the chat and forums, a safe and clean environment for the entire community.

Admins, Smods, forums mods, and Chat Mods all must adhering to a strict set of rules and guideline. As players you are not privy to the rules that a moderator must follow, but be assured they are held to a very high standard. Therefore unfounded accusations will not be tolerated and will be treated as Harassment in chat.

If you as a player feel that you have an issue with a member of the moderator team, you do have the option of contacting support and having your issue handled directly by a support member.

We are glad to have you all as members of the community, and together we feel that we can work together to have both a great forums and chat system.
