Dark Orbit Has Changed :(

A Long time ago, before Lf4's, Havoc's, Herc's, Aegis, Cidadel, and Spearhead, when their were very few "Skill Designs" or "Designs at All". Before Pilot Bio, Skylab, and Upgrades, When Darkorbit Servers flurished with Hard working Players. Before servers went from Full of Activity to Barely Alive. The Day's when Darkorbit Music wasn't made with a keyboard...

When 1v1's would last more than 15, 20, even 30 Seconds an Group Raids Happened...

When their were the 4 Gates, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta, When their wasn't a crown, their was a Triangle, Why have we lost Touch?
Remember when you would log in to a server selection, not Automatically Placed?
Remember the old Equipment Tab?
The Old Backpage?

Remember the Defcom, or Yamato?

When we would see Police Ships all the Time?? (In my signature)
All i ask is what has happened to this once amazing Game (Still is good, but not like it was)
Darkorbit, Listen to the Players, when did most of your older players (Played for 6+ Years) Quit the Game? When Upgrades/ Lf4's came out, Make a Old School Server, (No Bio, No tech, no Lf4, no Upgrades, only 4 ORIGINAL GATES) If you sent an email out to players that are inactive I think they would come back...

 

Remember when you couldn't move stuff around? (Made the game more challenging) (A.K.A. more Fun)

Lets not Forget out Dear Friend the PHOENIX

 

I used to play back in 2009. I flew a big boy and was so proud I managed to get up to 1,000,000 credits all by myself. Dark Orbit has tried to adapt with the players so that when we advance, they do also. But they are forgetting the new players behind, making people leave. I remember when Space ball had over 50 people from each server trying to attack the ball, now it has 4 from one company.

 

My favorite time period of DO was in 2011 just before the LF-4 came out, I preferred that to the old client at least.

So whilst the game has changed I think to start off with it changed for good, then the LF-4 came up, changed for the worse and now - hopefully - it is crawling back to the game it used to be.

The future for this game does look good to me, we get updates and responses from the devs now on what they are planning to do and the way they are going to do it, and it all sounds pretty nice so far.

Old client servers exist, just not made by DO, so if you want to play the old client you can.

 

BP had an old school server, it was on Facebook and was called Uridium Wars. That game did good until the botters took over. It died one year ago.

 

I'd like DO a little more if they bothered to admit, they have lag, and would fix it, GA1 is full of lag, it's ridiculous, ruins the game.

 

That was the problem. Many players gave up because they hated botters and autolockers. I've noticed that now some of old players are coming back.
Yes, that's true that LF4s, new gates etc. are expensive but the worst thing was that there were cheaters who got everything cheaply and easily. I wish they had been banned permanently

 

But the reason is simple why people botted. The price tag of the new items and "chance" were just too high for a average player. Simple price reduction and/or chance increase would have completely removed any kind of botting.

 

I'm a user since April 11, 2008. Darkorbit, well no actually bigpoint has made this into a money game, you can't survive in this game without buying uri. The old days of the old client was the best. I remember when half of the company would raid another company's map. Now that doesn't even happen period. DO servers are outdated and need to be upgraded because they are adding so much new stuff the server can't take it putting lagg all in the game then they turn around in tell us well, mmm did you clear your cache, history, and what not blaming you and your service when its them. Darkorbit/Bigpoint is getting too money hungry, therefore they are loosing a lot of new people who join the game. By the way Blue Booty Keys total rip off bought some got nothing and there suppose to be the best Booty Keys. But anyways I miss the old client and I wish they will bring it back because everyone knows they can. Darkorbit and Bigpoint themselves know they can. They just worrying about that mu-la and not our satisfaction! I play every now and then, but back then I use to couldn't wait to get to home or a library to play now its like, oh ok...

 

I think they should bring back the messages where it states a player was destroyed in your map. Back then when I was a noob I took it as a warning to find a safe spot lol. now noobs go mid map clueless theres enemies while their company is dying around them, then they are. Also so when some of us go berserk and annihilate a map we feel special :3

But life goes on... Also bigpoint is probably not planning to stop updating the game... All they think of is money (even not a 7th B-day gate was given)
Wonder what's next... Bo3? Lf5? New drone design that gives shield, hp and dmg? New ships again?? No one knows.. All we know is it will not stop..

 

Bright side, they claim not to be bringing stuff like that into the game lol, although they lie a lot.

 

Thanks you if i can play on old school server i would say goodbye to Darkorbit, now if darkorbit made an old school server i would put in the 200$ to become FE on it

Old players have been coming back but an old school server would bring lots back in my opinion

 

Simple fact is players are so powerful that they are now completely independent.

 

I don't seem to have any problems on GA1. It's probably your PC.

 

Yeah like i told DO, dont tell me my $600 computer, plus the $200 system mechanics is bad. Complaints in chats are everywhere about lag. Sure a really expensive computer would be less lag, but the server still has lag. And im curious do you even know what GA1 is? because ive seen multiple people confuse it with another server.

 

Computers have nothing to do with it, i have played on a 1200 dollar pc with 60 fps i still had lag, i played on a 500 dollar pc with 30 fps and had relativly the same amount of lag

 

I'm playing on a 2500 dollars pc with sometimes up to 70 fps .mostly 61-65 and I still have lag sometimes .I have no problems with my internet either .I always clear my caches and even my flash player caches and cookies and they still tell me to do all this .I have 3 gaming computers and I have to say I play other games that u have to download and they don't require as much as darkorbit ..
