Dark Orbit Update problems

Thursday, May 8, 2025 (7:31).
Clicked on the Dark Orbit, UNITY icon (this was for version 1.1.41).
Completed the log-in sequence and received the notification that the game needed an update.
I clicked on that update button and after a few seconds, the Dark Orbit screen disappeared and the 'update' mini-screen showed up. A few seconds after that there was the indication that something was being loaded/down-loaded/etc...
Approximately a minute later that screen disappeared and I was left with a blank screen.
I waited about a half-minute and as I went to do a CTRL-ALT-DELETE to try a restart, did not have to as the dark screen disappeared and I was left with my regular screen.
I attempted to fire-up UNITY DO again, this time nothing.
I reverted back to the older flash version and was able to get in.
(that was the only way I had to even access the forums)
Not sure what version number is supposedly the current and working one.

Further attempts to get Dark Orbit UNITY started resulted in the following:
- Login Screen presented
- username and password entered
- the Dark Orbit UNITY screen shows up with the last current ship used
- click on the ship and after a slight delay the screen goes black
- then update notice is presented
- click on the update button and the dark orbit screen shuts down
- I am returned to my pre-dark orbit screen.
- No access to dark orbit

Why are Dark Orbit updates so darn difficult to get/complete/use ?
