Death Penalty

What do you lose when killed by:

a) opposing company
b) alien
c) own faction?

And what is the percentage/chance of the loss?

You lose 4 rank points for every death.
Depending on the type of repair option you chose along with your ship type you can lose credits / uridium, however that is completely optional.

If you have drones you need to watch their damage percentage as once they reach 100% they get destroyed. The percentage goes up each time you die, so that is a sort of penalty I suppose.

 

Thanks for the info. Does that mean you do not lose cargo and/or gear? and Uridium only depending on what repair choice you make? Not per se as drop for whoever killed you?

[edit] Early I saw someone being killed by an opposing company and he did drop something, though I didn't bother trying to pick it up, so I don't know what was in the drop...

 

you lose some cargo. Unless it's palladium found in the 5-3 map. no equipment is lost. and you will see when you die, 3 options, rep at base, rep at nearest port (cost uri) and rep on spot (cost more uri). And ship repairs no longer cost to repair. only those 2 extra rep options.

 

Thanks for the info :] I've seen the death screen too often already thanks to company killers.. I was worried I'd also lost the Uridium as drop..

 

Ah yeah actually, like Dream Demon just said you do lose cargo too, I think it's 20%, but it might change for each type of resource in your cargo, I think seprom is higher whilst you drop 0 palladium on the other hand.
No equipment loss, apart from drones if you don't repair them once in a while as I mentioned in the first post, just keep an eye on their percentages and repair them on around 90% and you will be fine
