Domination Event

From July 30th to Aug 16th, capture and hold Domination Beacons as you prepare to swarm a rich prize: the alien merchant convoy on the horizon!

UNN SPECIAL REPORT

Our hacker team has recovered an exclusive still image from a deep-space observation station of an alien freighter convoy approaching human sectors. Their hulls look reinforced, sparking debate within the xenology community as to what, if any, ammo can penetrate them at all.

The Companies have not issued any statements regarding this alien convoy, probably because their PR departments have their hands full handling the growing number of protests and demonstrations reacting to the rising death toll from the "Andromeda Disaster". Everyone is denying any responsibility for the covert military raid in which an AndromedaCORP ore mining fleet was caught in rocket crossfire and destroyed.

Do you receive more points when your company holds all of the sectors and have bases in all 3 domination 4-x maps?
Yes.

Does a company’s influence points increase if you hold beacons and CBS?
The number of beacons or CBS in a given sector does not increase the influence points a company gets.

How many Domination Points do you get for capturing beacons & building a CBS?
3 beacons - No base = 3
3 beacons - with base = 3 + 4
5 beacons - No base = 5
5 beacons - with base = 5 + 4
9 beacons - No base = 9
9 beacons - with base = 9 + 4

NOTE: For the additional domination points to be given, the CBS has to be built on the same map as your captured beacons.

What happens to a CBS if the company loses the beacons?
The CBS behaves as normal. As long as it has shields it will not be destroyed, giving the players enough time to reclaim the beacons.

How does neutralizing/conquering a beacon work?
Once a beacon is captured by a company it is locked for the next 15 minutes and is protected from being neutralized.

What type award is offered to the winning company?
Winning the domination? Check the graphics.
Winning the Boss fight? Only the attacking players will receive rewards, distributed by the amount of damage inflicted.

Is there any reward to the company at the end of the domination event who has the most influence points?
The winning faction will get a 10% bonus on bonus boxes. All factions will get a 1% bonus on honor and XP for every 1,300 domination points they gathered throughout the event but 15% at max. Bonus will come into effect at 17 August 2014, 00:01 h and end at 23 August 2014 at 23:59 h.

Do players receive the bonus when they switch companies during the Domination event?
Players can switch companies as normal.

Will the company influence ship designs benefit the players during this event?
The ship designs give you the PvP bonus.

If and when the Freighter appears, will all companies benefit from the rewards?
The Freighter appears on the last day of the event and will give rewards which is distributed to players relative to the amount of damage they inflict. It does not give company-wide bonuses. The Freighter will also drop loot in the form of a pink cargo box which of course, will not be shared between players.

What is the purpose of this event?
This event is a fun event where a lot of PvP is happening around the CBSs and the beacons. We’re also trying to find out how tightly people are attached to their company and we’re collecting data on how to make this a permanent mechanic.

The beacons do drop special ammo that does double-damage on the freighter – so they have plenty of time collecting this by capturing beacons.

- Deals x4 damage on players and regular NPCs
- Deals x8 damage to Demaner Freighter
- Can be purchased in the shop while your faction is dominating

When will the Demaner Freighter NPC spawn?
The Demaner Freighter will spawn on the last day of Domination only. It can be attacked by all players, no matter which company they belong to.

Do players need to buy booty keys to open the purple booty box?
Although the purple box looks like a booty box, players do not need to purchase keys to open it as it is the cargo box which the Demaner Freighter drops once it has been destroyed.
