I said it would help... not that it would address the real problem. Even if you could 1shot a bk how long would it take you to get uber FE then? years still?

 

If you use your time smartly and make smart decisions and know what you're doing its quite easy to become Ufe. A year or so

 

oh... well please lemme know how. Now UFE being Full lf4(40 of them) AZ drones full havoc/hurc all drone formations and all lasers upgraded to lvl 16.. I know bo3 are coming out so we shouldn't do those A year or so.. I look forward to reading your 'guide to ufe in a year'. We would all truly benefit from this.

I suppose its possible Boots. Get a boxing doubler, quit your job, and box for 10 hours a day, 6 days a week for a whole year straight...that MIGHT get you to UFE in a year.

Granted I only use box doubler occasionally, I do box a LOT, and I'm not quite UFE yet after 3 1/2 years (just need top half of upgrades).

 

*Boots* not sure how long you have been back playing but getting UFE now is much, much easier that it was in 2011, especially on a small server.
We recently have flash sales now where things like booty boxes will be at a discount price and then next week something else like galaxy gate spins will be at a discount price for a day etc. You can then use the keys you bought at a discount price on x3 chance LF-4 events - in 2012 it took me 4,500 boxes to get 45 LF-4 across three x2 chance LF-4 days yet now I'm constantly hearing of people getting 5 or 6 LF4 with around 200 keys on the new x3 LF4 day.
Event boxes are also improved and during the last even they were on 24/7.

The hardest part about the road to UFE now is getting a ship good enough to solo cubes, need to get iris, dozen or so LF4 and an Aegis from trade. However once you are able to solo cubes it's now much cheaper to get the remainder of the UFE equipment. The new Drill formation makes this step even easier - won't be needing as many LF4 now to start solo cubes.

Also B03 are definitely not coming, so don't worry about that x) little bit off topic but thought I would let you know what the state of it all is like now compared to years ago.

 

You have a point, i went back to west server, where i had less then a months gameplay, after a year, got prem, doubler, and rebate, and boxed and did missions for the last 2 months, plenty of time being sick all this time. I have 16 lf4, 1 of which is level 16, quiet a few Bo2 upgrades, 10 drones which are almost done upgrading, the most part of bio, 8 havoc, and 2 hercules, got the things i need for pet and formations as well, things are going quiet differently then how they did on my main account on GA1.

 

Didn't see that coming. So it really is better? I've been collecting pally on my gb1 account for a while... finished a few gates, and got 3 or 4 lf4 in about a week so if you extrapolate that it will take about 12-14 weeks to get full lf4 from zero. I just thought I was extremely lucky. Now on soloing cubes, can it be done with naked x1 yet?? These chance things are working out as I thought they might with some things though. The 'chance' of getting things from gates seems to be the same.. but really I've only done 6 since I've gotten back (they were built a year ago... with a couple thousand spins...).
Ok so I'll give it a chance and see if I make it to UFE in a year

Now on topic: Make that drone formation hit for more than 1% extra on npcs!! Really guys you can do more for the average noob!!! I need to make it to UFE in less than a year!!! Really guys the npc's won't mind and it'll be better for all of us, while I'm partial to 80% maybe you can settle on a less cool number;-) RickD cmon get the lead out and lets mince some NPC meat with that noob formation!!!

I think this feedback thread is just useless because they are never seeing or trying to fix our concerns here. I was guarding my base today and 3 guys with ring formation come and pop it and i couldnt even kill any of them cause of their heavy shields and if i changed to drill or moth i just instapopped cause thats how it is. It should be changed for sure

 

You would've died regardless. Two non-Ufe aegis can solo a base easy right in the middle of it. This was already possible, now it's just on a larger scale. All things considered the negatives on ring are heavy enough, though the bonus makes heart dumb. Heart gives 10% shield with -5% to damage. This gives 18x that with less than half the negative to damage. And yeah heart gives Hp, but still.

 

First of all i am UFE double boosted with sep so if there wont be ring there will be practically non possible for them to pop my base but they had citadel with 4.5 mill shields that 3 ufes couldnt pop at all whereas heart is well balanced.... They can change formation to cause -40% dmg only to npcs and no dmg in pvp or just decrease shields to +80% or so to make more sense than now

 

Yeah but that citadel isn't gonna do even half decent fe damage. And if 3 Ufe couldn't pop him quickly there's a slight problem. A citadel with ring is basically a cube with crap damage. An Ufe can solo a cube in 20 seconds, so how is it hard for 3 to kill 1 player if you're all Ufe.

 

u are saying like he popped it alone he was with 3 other UFEs with him all using ring and we couldnt do anything thats my point im not saying that was impossible to pop that citadel in some seconds if alone

 

Less than a year, in few months u get UFE if u make it your goal!

 

What does the "Shield spread reduced by 5%" in drill mean? Shield spread is what??

 

I think that means damage to shields, i forget though :/

 

That's what I thought, easiest way to beat drill is moth imo lol.. Only REALLY viable in endgame pvp in a aegis maybe citadel

 

if you know how to switch between formations and such, you can do a lot in PvP.

 

TRUST ME I'm a pretty great pvper, look up Clack tto on youtube if you get a chance lol

 

Hi guys,

I want to address some of your questions and comments in the next lines. Let's start:

Shield spread reduction means that more damage get through your shield hitting your ship directly.
The best shields have a 80% spread. That means that if you get a shot of 100 damage, only 20 damage will hit your ship directly. With the drill the spread is reduced a 5%, so it will be now 76% and your ship will get 24 damage from a shot of 100, while the rest will affect your shield.

I hope this clarifies how spread works.


Formations balancing
As you have seen the formations have been released as they were in the last test before the 3D launch. The feedback we got from you was very mixed, being 50-50 like-dislike.

About the Ring formation, we have analyzed all the formations before and after release, and we don't consider the Ring overpowered. There are ways to counter it. For the cases of many vs many -which seem to be when the Ring feels overpowered- it could be more a question of coordination than balancing.

Will we change some formations balancing?
Yes, there are two formation that we are looking to update with improved stats: The X formation and the Dome formation. There is no date for the update but we hope we can do it soon.
