    General information
With this new system, we release 2 new gear types: The Particle Cannon and the Refractor.

The Particle Cannon serves as the 3rd weapon system in addition to the existing lasers and rockets. It provides your ship with a new attack option.

The Refractor is a new defensive gear specifically designed to encounter Particle Cannon.

Both new gears are categorized into 2 attributes:
    • Thermal
    • Corrosive

Attacks using Particle Cannons of different attributes will trigger additional effects such as splash damage, chain attacks, and vulnerability of targets.

Refractors sharing the same attribute type as an incoming attack will reduce damage from that specific attribute.

    New Attributes
The damage calculation system for Particle Cannons will also be influenced by the 2 attribute types Thermal and Corrosive. The attribute bonuses will not apply to lasers and rockets (including Particle Cannon effects and ship-specific bonuses).

There are 2 newly introduced attributes in damage calculations:
    • Defence: The higher the defense value, the less damage is taken from Particle Cannon attacks (this doesn’t affect damage from lasers or rockets)
    • Cannon penetration: Opposite to defense. The higher the cannon penetration value, the greater the damage dealt. Cannon penetration doesn’t affect the shield’s damage absorption percentage.

    Attack effects
When using Particle Cannons of different types, each has a specific attack effect:

    • Thermal: Attacks with a thermal Particle Cannon inflict splash damage on 5 targets within a 275-unit radius around the primary target, dealing 40% of the main damage
    • Corrosive: A corrosive Particle Cannon applies a 20-second 5% corrosive vulnerability effect to the target, stackable up to 5 layers.

    New Hangar for Flash

    upload_2025-12-2_23-23-31.png

In the Flash client, a new icon will appear next to the existing hangar icon. Flash players can click this new icon to equip new weapons/refractors.

Unity players can equip new weapons in the existing hangar.

    New Hangar slots
There will be new hangar slots added for the new items.
    • Particle Cannon: Each ship’s hangar will add 3 new Particle Cannon slots to equip Particle Cannons. Each ship can only equip one Particle Cannon of each type (similar to unstable modules)
    • Refractor: Each ship’s hangar will add 6 new refractor slots to equip refractors. Unlike Particle Cannon slots, these 6 refractor slots can equip refractors of any type.

    Auto Particle Cannon CPU
The Auto Particle Cannon CPU is available for 25,000 Uridium in the shop. Once acquired, it can be equipped in the ship’s Extra Slot. After equipping, activation is required through the CPU Quickbar to use it.

Upon activation, when using a laser attack on the target, the Auto Particle Cannon CPU automatically fires the default-selected slug.

    Slugs
Another new item category are the new Slugs. These serve as consumable ammunition for Particle Cannon. Also the Slugs are categorized into 2 types: Thermal, Corrosive.

To fire a slug of a specific type, the ship must have a Particle Cannon of the same attribute equipped, otherwise the attack cannot be executed. When a slug of a specific type is successfully used, damage is calculated based on the corresponding type-aligned Particle Cannon’s statistical parameters. Particle Cannons of different types have no impact on the resulting damage output.

You can switch between different types of slugs during combat at any time. Using different types of slugs triggers different visual effects. However, your ship will not directly display the new gear types they are equipped with.

There’s a cooldown that applies to the entire set. Example: You can equip 3 different types of Particle Cannons, and if you fire the corrosive one, it goes on a 4-second cooldown. If you then switch to the thermal one, it will also be affected by the cooldown.

    Particle Cannons
All Particle Cannons share the following stats (all these won’t increase with level or quality):

    DescriptionStats
    Cannon DamageRange: 600
    Cannon Hit Chance80
    Reload time4 sec

    Critical chance10%
    Critical damage15%
    Damage Variance75%-100%

When a Particle Cannon is obtained, it randomly generates a corresponding number of additional attribute slots. The higher the quality tier of the Particle Cannon, the greater the randomized attribute values will be.

    Exclusive ship effect
Upon obtaining a UL-tier Particle Cannon, it will come with an exclusive ship effect. Equipping this Particle Cannon to its dedicated ship grants a substantial boost to its base damage.

While the Particle Cannon can be equipped on other ships, the base damage bonus effect will only activate when paired with its designated ship.

    Refractors
When a refractor is obtained, it randomly generates a corresponding number of additional attribute slots. The higher the quality tier of the refractor, the greater the randomized attribute values will be.

Refractors are categorized into 6 quality tiers, which are displayed in the gear’s name. The quality tier of a refractor determines its base Particle Cannon defense value and the number of additional attribute slots available:

    New item: OptiGrad Chips
The new OptiGrad Chips can be used to re-randomize the additional attributes of the Particle Cannon and the Refractor.

You can re-randomize them in the Restabilize tab within the Assembly.

You can obtain the OptiGrad Chips by recycling Particle Cannons and refractors.
The re-randomization of a Particle Cannon’s and Refractor’s additional attributes is subject to a fixed reroll limit. The higher the Particle Cannon’s and Refractor’s quality tier, the more reroll attempts are available.

    Upgrade Particle Cannons and Refractors
You can upgrade your Particle Cannons with an upgrade system that is similar to the one of the lasers.

    • The following stat is upgraded: Cannon Damage
    • You can upgrade it up to 20 levels
    • There’s a damage bonus of 0.5% per level increase
    • To upgrade, you need ABR, Indoctrine Oil and Diametrion

You can upgrade your refractors with an upgrade system that is similar to the one of the shield generators.

    • The following stat is upgraded: Cannon Shield
    • You can upgrade it up to 20 levels
    • There’s a damage bonus of 0.5% per level increase

To upgrade, you need ABR, Indoctrine Oil and Diametrion

    Recycle Particle Cannons and Refractors
You can recycle the Particle Cannons and refractors for free at any time. Exception: The UL-tier Particle Cannons are extremely rare, so they cannot be recycled.

Recycling a particle cannon or refractor refunds 80% of upgrade materials based on its upgrade level, while also granting a quantity of OptiGrad Chips corresponding to the particle cannons’ or refractor’s quality tier.
