    It'd b cool for a farming chip to be made that lets pilots not b targeted for pvp.
    What i'm sayin is no ships "enemy or same company" may target the pilot from boxing, farming or collecting in pirate maps as long as the chip is active.
    Also the alien ur firing on can't be targeted by any non outfitted person either.
    To avoid abuse of this chip it can only be active in the home and pirate maps.
    This chip will only work for it's owner, effects are not shared by anything else.
    The activation will be by tab with a 1 hour active time and 1 hour cool down time.

    Attacking an uncloaked ship while the chip is active will instantly make the chip go into cool down, locking on a cloaked ship will make the chip not allow the ship to fire till another target is chosen.
    The cool down will stop if the pilot logs off and restart when they log back in.

    During this chips active time the NPC's gain a 5% damage boost against this chip users.


    The price of the chip should b 2k uri.

  2. Only farming chip I am interested in is the one that protects you while in 5-3.

    Make the chip cover 4-5 and pirate maps as well.
     
  4. So the lower maps get flooded with everyone farming and no one is able to hunt, having this work even remotely in 4-5 or the pirate maps would also be an awful idea. There's no point in an activation/deactivation cool down when you could just keep it active 24/7 though it wouldn't work in some maps as you said. Worthless in uppers and OP in lowers, don't even consider this for 4-5 or pirates. I'm on the fence about the actual concept though.
     
  5. Sorry but no from me, this would make tons of players abuse this and farm aliens in lowers, this would cripple the pvp aspect of the game and would ruin hunting for a majority of players. I am 100% for the no shoot option in 5-3 though.

  8. If this was employed in 5-3 instead of lowers then we'd have the same problem as paradox said except far worse.
     
  9. How? Most people I know go to 5-3 in order to try building the gates. If word is out there is hunting going on there, a lot of people won't even go there.
     
  10. Did you read the post I referred to so you could understand what I meant? I'm assuming you didn't. 5-3 is already packed with those trying to build gates, it can be laggy, it would be over-crowded and probably pretty laggy for some with this chip. Besides that, with everyone safely in a PvE map, hunting would cease to exist.
     
  11. Yep, read it, but really, not everyone likes to pally. I hate it, and not even for the hunting that happens in there. Its boring, so boring. I have done, 8 gates in 2.5 years, and that is mainly from spins found around the other maps, and I am not referring to 4-x maps. Players like doing the mission quests more I think. Hunting is boring I think, but pally is even more boring. Rather poke my eyes out. The chip won't come. They won't make a chip just for pally, there are hunting missions for that map.

    i like the idea and could see the benefit there needs to be some off sets. maybe not all that are listed, but possibly a few of them in tandem.

    1.maybe if the farming had a long cool down say an hour+ to offset cool down boosters
    2. it is only in affect for 15mins or so
    3. the player would need to be logged in to the client for the cool down to timer to count down. this would avoid playing only when the chip is cooled down
    4. it should cost uri pp and creds or make it where you can only get it from booty. i could go either way
    5. be lost if the player/pet shoots at anything. wouldn't be fair if you can shoot something, but nobody can shoot you.
    6.make it a tech item that takes time to build
    7. slow ship down 5% -20%. this would off set collecting
    8. would not work on 4-4 map as there is nothing to collect there anyways except during space ball
    9. pvp players should twice the points if they pop a player while in the cool down phase. not sure how this would help, but i think it would make things more interesting lol
    10. available to low level players only say lvl 10 and below
    if you want to farm in peace you can, but there has to be an offset of sorts so it is not single sided or easily abused

    Wow fusion, I like some of those side effect.
    How about active time of 1 hour with a 3 hour cool down and the cooldown discontinues and re-engages if log off happens.

  14. I say 1 hour play, 3 hour cool down, plus be a tech item that is lost if you shoot anything.

    You already have protection in x-1 and a 'warning' in x-2
     
  16. Dude, who farms in x-1 x-2 maps? I grind like a mad man, are you suggesting i stay in x-1 x-2? Come on bro, with respect you sound like one of the typical players who goes into farm maps doubled boosted + sepped all to take on a ship that cant see you and/or concentrating on something else who can only try to defend themselves as you had a headstart, and hit ALOT harder whilst they are being hit by NPC.

    There is not a lack of players for PVP maps, people are just looking for easy kills which makes sense as its a guaranteed kill and saves money on ammo - but its cowardly and needs to be limited.

    I tested a theory in my newest hangar and got chased all over the map, when i changed to No1 hangar its funny what the colour of your drones does to other players, even though at a glance they are the same. This game is rammed with opportunists who will prefer a 2v1 against an equal skill/strength player.

    The PVP maps are empty, because your all too busy looking for free kills and get a god complex going on because you already know you are guaranteed stupid amounts of unfair kills, yet ironically the person who has the god complex is a sheep, accepting the rumour and notion that there are no enemies in PVP maps, baaaa. +1 from me for farm chip, maybe double boosted players will leave us alone to get missions finished and actually let us take part in events such as Hitac/Icy/Demaner etc.

    Not to hijack this thread, but a more neutral/passive idea would be to have warning bar on every map, and for those players that would complain about a simple warning bar, well, you arent really that good at hunting if it affects you.

    Ok so 1 hour active and 3 hour cooldown, "but how about instead of losing a tech item" if pvp happens on a non cloaked ship the cool down happens rite then but on a cloaked ship ur guns won't fire till u change targets.

    It will b active on all home and pirate maps.
    Thanx for ur ideas guys let me know how to make it better.

    one hour of farming is too long.players would just log off until the end of the cool down.the offset would be meant to keep the game interaction going even while you wait for the cool down to complete. 3 hours is too long of a cool down and players may just log for the day and return on the following to give it another go.

    however if the player had to be actively playing during the cool down i could see it working only if the player was not able to sit in port/base or on an x1 map for the duration of the cool down. this would work like titles. cool down time starts once you have left the demil zone and time in gates would not be counted as well. you should be allowed to do gg with out penalty of losing protection if you shoot an npc.

    It was suggested that logging off during cooldown would stop the timer and it would re-engage after the person logs back in, I think perhaps like 1 hour active and 1 hour cooldown time should suffice.
     
  20. I am not opposed to a player sitting at port/cbs or company x-1 map during the cool down. 3 hours is a lot of time to just be sitting and you end up lagging off a lot. Of course that would allow a number of players to sit and chat for a while but really if it is set for 3 hours plus port/cbs and x-1 time, its really a long time to be on the cool down. I really doubt most players would just set around during that time. A smart move would be to pally for an hour, then go work on something else for the 3 hours and then back to pally. As some players spend hours in pally, I doubt they will be too likely to leave and pally would still only empty out if there was a hunter down there causing havok.
