I'm sure people on Darkorbit have been nabbed for pushing or what Darkorbit constitutes as "pushing". There are some good players in game who are getting wrongfully accused of "pushing" when Darkorbit can't even clarify pushing. They seem to think that it takes "2" players to make it "pushing" when in game reality there are FAR more scenarios to consider before slapping on a "Pushing Ship Kills" charge to any account. I thought most or all of support has some knowledge of the game since they are the ones banning those accounts for this particular charge. Here is a particular scenario to think about which was "taken care of" from support. Lets say you are cubing in your respective cube map and there is a ship weaker than yours from an enemy company comes into your map and "attempts" to shoot you off the cubikon or waits cloaked til you are done with the cubikon to shoot you, and you pop him either way. He clearly doesn't like being destroyed so this account comes back again and again and again and again.. You get the idea.. to the point where it can be now classified as "pushing". I attempted to asked support about this particular scenario and of course Everyone's Favorite Support Person, REMOVED, then tells me that I should reconsider my strategy and move to another map? Are you kidding me? What's next? Darkorbit now tells us to take the attempt and just be destroyed? Wouldn't take constitute as a "free kill" which has been declared as a form of "pushing"? How bout this one.. Lets say you are defending your base during Primetime, which I'm sure everyone knows about, and it turns out while defending your base, the same person keeps coming back again and again and so on.. again you catch my drift. If support claims to investigate all claims about pushing then why is it that both parties are banned? Maybe there is a scenario where 2 people agree to destroy each other for quests or notoriety, that I can see where that would fall into the criteria for "pushing" but to threaten Permanent Account Bans even before "investigating the scenario"? Its bad enough most of the "paid" players are telling themselves that Darkorbit is "nerfing" the PvP aspect of the game. Something has to be done with this subject on top of everything else but I'm a believer that if the "paid" players are concerned about something in game then normally it gets taken care of. I shouldn't hear from good fighter in my clan that they are done with Darkorbit because they know of players who will come up to them with the sole purpose of getting that particular players permanently banned off that server. Any ideas or comments on previous experiences?

  2. Hello DejaVu,

I've run in to a certain scenario where I declared war on a clan in my own company, of course being big spenders we are the wars never go to well for the opposing clan; in any case Certain members of these clans have decided it as "OK" to get into Phoenix's with no equipment and cloak under your cube repeatedly.

Being as we are at war the kamikaze kills them over and over and, they keep doing it of course most of the time you will not even notice your supposedly "Pushing" because the repeated phoenix kill blends in with the protegit kills; this is their master plan and I would advice support does something about it....

  3. For the OP, you have good scenario's there I think. Just to keep yourself safe though, you might consider changing maps every few cubes, or shoot something besides the cube and the enemy also just to space out the enemy kills more. I am not sure why they would claim you are pushing when the enemy ship is in your map shooting you, or even if you were in the enemy ships maps. It is an enemy ship... I can tell you from dealing with tech personnel in a number of places that they normally just look at what they need for an issue. They barely understand the real deal in a situation and will always give "mess" advice to disguise the real solution. Later they will be huddled together having drinks and laughing about all the frustration they managed to cause.

Explanation needed for this one: Everyone's Favorite Support Person, REMOVED? Why would her name be "removed" in forums when its on 100s of millions of emails from support? Except for removing, why not join into the conversation. Maybe some light can be shined on this subject

Funny thing is if you have "WAR" with another clan, you can destroy those members 10 times. I remember hearing about a group of people who would get into Pnuts and cloak up and hide under cubes and on a constant basis would allow themselves get popped by the player who was on the cubikon resulting as a possible Outlaw tag. To branch off the idea of clan wars, What if the enemy clan was coming up to you 15 to 20 times trying to destroy you off a NPC and you keep destroying him to the point where you ask yourself about "pushing". It gets irritating when Darkorbit says now that they now have "scripts" for detect "pushing". Not reassuring to hear they have scripts for pushing when they have apologized in past for banning accounts that were never botting or pushing. Darkorbit support told me one time to rethink my strategy and move to another map.. Do they think that player won't look for me in another map only to try AGAIN to destroy me again off a NPC? I WILL NOT THROW A FIGHT ON DARKORBIT ! ! ! ! If someone destroys me in game, they earned it.. not because I had no choice but to give him the kill because I fear my account being banned for pushing

  6. Dude, the people who run this game need some serious help and it seems as though they're in denial. Kara gets so many complaints that if she were to work for any reputable company they would have fired her ass long ago. But the key word there is reputable. DO just doesn't give a damn about anything but their bottom line, which looks to be shrinking at an astonishing rate.

I also was concerned after hearing about players getting punished for pushing merely by playing the game. I contacted support for clarification as playing on an empty server at the times I play it's inevitable to be killing the same players when hunting. The reply from removed was that pushing is basically redefined and killing the same player too many times too often would result in punishment.

I tried to query how it is fair to lose 30% ep and honor from playing the game normally in the way it was intended while people that share/buy accounts etc do not get punished in this way but didn't really get anywhere.

It's pretty worrying if you are the only person defending a base and 1 player keeps coming back to try and destroy your damage module or something.

I thought the whole reward reduction thing was supposed to handle the issue of pushing. I'm not sure why punishment would be required on players that are just killing other players the way the game is meant to be. People do not choose their targets based on how many times they have destroyed them already that day in situations such as the OP and I have described. It really needs looking at.

  9. i think when the counter its 0 that player should not count towards quest or ranking

  10. You're not the sharpest tool in the shed are ya? http://www.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/board/threads/new-pushing-system.1027/

    • When the Honor rewarded for killing a player reaches zero, this player will also stop adding Kill Points for further kills.

  11. well let me say i missed that post and on a second note if that is the case why the hell is the pushing rule still in play, and that post it only talk about points not quest now stop bin a half lit light-bulb and try and blow me outa the water with half an answer

  12. I remember a couple years ago some clan mates got punished for killing the same war botter over 100 times each. How is that our problem? lmao

  13. simple for 1 popping botters is classed as abusing a glitch ...as botters are a bug in the game

And when I asked a mod from my country what should I we do on GE2 with the bots from 5-3, she said that we should kill them untill they don't have drones.. why bots are our problem ? Nice answer..

  15. Them cheating isn't our problem. If they are war and choose to continually bot where we roam, we can pop them as we please. There's a garbage pushing system yet we see people getting away with it 24/7 Go to any x-1 map on GA1 and you're bound to find some spanish noob killing his own ship. I popped the kill ship once and the guy whispered me "stop interfering with my killing" in spanish, but i translated it.
