    yes i am

  4. I'm guessing that it's a numpad mouse?
I use a numpad mouse and it should stay as defualt. 1 being 1 and 9 being 9. Works just like the buttons on your PC itself. I did not go through any setup for it unless yours is different. Try looking the the guide the mouse came with (if it did come with one) or search on Google how to to set it.

  5. If you are using a gaming mouse, you need to download the mouse software and driver.

For example, my mouse is a logitech mmorpg mouse. I download the logitech software and that software allows me to change the settings of buttons on the mouse. But the way each button is setup, you have to assign each button an existing key or combination of keys.

For example: my g1 key on my mouse is CTRL+F 11 and when I push G1, it will act like I'm pushing those two keys.

You can use it. What you can't do is set it up to run macros so you can't have it where 1 button press begins a cycle of rsb/x4 or emp and then cloak for example.

  7. They need to find some way of enforcing that, because there are players I have met and seen that set their mouse for that.

I'm not a programmer but shouldn't be too hard for a script that would monitor the time interval between changes and flag ones that are consistently millisecond perfect, or "key presses" that occur at exact time intervals on a regular basis. The only problem with this is in order for it to not generate false positives it has to be precise and I'm not sure that it's possible to do that with internet latency and such.

Again, I'm not a programmer or IT person at all but it would be nice if they either found a way to stop people breaking the rules, or changed the rules so it's available to all. Programmable buttons could be incorporated into the settings option (maybe another benefit to being premium) and an auto-targetting cpu could be made available. I realise this would change the game a lot but doesn't seem fair for the ones that break the rules and get away with it to have those things and the legit players are disadvantaged again through their honesty.

Sauron, you might find rsb, x4, sab better to have on the keys and put something like emp/cloak on your extra mouse buttons, or ish/smb might be better so you can more easily cycle x4/rsb and still do ish/smb without having to move fingers too much.

  10. Hello SauronL

Thank you all for assisting with this thread.

As long as you are not using macros in order to gain advantage in game, you will be fine to play with gaming mouse.

Do you (the original poster) have any further questions or can we close?

Since it's the equivalent of installing a macro you might as well ask how to install a bot in DO's eyes.
My advice would be to just look on the internet and get the answer, googling the company that made the mouse and finding the page about it will be a good start since if it has software to go with the mouse the link will be there.

  13. Most gaming mice and keyboards come with software, in package, but if your did not, go to their web site. You should find what you need to know.

That's everything you need for your mouse.

First, install the 3rd link. Which is the driver.

The first one will give you the software to assign each button a key.
