[GI] did you know

please can somebody tell me how i can stop receiving the message titled "did you know" it tells me that my flash player is spoiling my game and that it could be fixed. well my flash player is not spoiling my game as much as this message is it pops up all the time and you have to close it down to get rid of it, even in the t/a while fighting. i have unselected in game messages in the settings but what else can i do?

 

go and look under game setting on the game screen, there is an option to disable game performance messages, un-click this and save then you wont receive these anymore.

 

That doesn't fix a damn thing, wanna know how i know? Cause i'v had that off for a long time, but one day it started popping up all the damn time, i turned it back on then off, did everything on my side and those stupid lag causing messages keep coming up. DO needs to fix those things.

 

A 'msg' Close chat in your options screen and then re'open As if

 

OP has stated explicitly that he has disabled this feature, and it makes no difference...

I didn't touch that and it just went away lol

 

right,logged on for 3mins and the message popped up twice and even if i wanted to "fix" the flash problem i couldnt because the instructions are so blurred and unreadable. interestingly i get this message on both of my computers, any help.

geranium-kiss, have you tried switching from 2D to 3D or vice versa? Can you also try the "Reset" button in options, log completely out and log back in to see if the issue is still present?

2D and 3D do it Raijin, matter of fact, pretty sure i made a complaint about this a long time ago, and it's even affecting others yet not fixed.

 

terrible issue, not fixing itself, I see what the OP was saying

 

suggest uninstalling flash and re-installing from the adobe website and trying a different browser

 

.-Raijin-., i have done what you suggested but the message still appears , it happened when i was trying to pop a uber lordikum! not a good thing to happen. i will try firefox and report back

 

It's a GAME problem reboog. DO has to fix it themselves.

 

odd that I don't have the issue ..sounds like malware trying to get you to accept some outside software, as flash is vulnerable bad guys use it to get in, selecting a restore point before the issue began along with a clean reinstall of flash is worth a try, just something that I would try myself if I did have the problem, if it doesn't work, no harm done.

 

So we have multiple examples of exactly the same game problem here, independantly verified and tested by a number of players.
I find the suggestion that it can be attributed to malware to be the least likely explanation, as each player who has experienced the issue would have to be infected by exactly the same code.

Also, in case you missed it, we have ALL had to reinstall Flash over the past 10 days or so anyway -

This sounds like a game problem to me.

i thought that maybe it was malware or some kind of bug but when i click on it, it dosnt take me to another page it just pops up . i have been playing on firefox and so far it hasn,t appered so it looks like a chrome issue, please keep this open for a day or so untill im sure its sorted, cheers michael

 

man you couldn't make this up, right i now play on firefoxand i don't see the flash message instead i get get a message saying my gaming expereance is suboptimal and i can fix this using the setting button in the top right of the screen.....do they think i'm stupid ? do they think that after six years of playing i wouldn't know all about the game settings and how to use them?
so i reset the settings log off, then log on and what do you know i get the same message telling me to use the settings button because they are suboptimal!
please can someone from D.O. sort this for me.

 

What they need to do is just get rid of that message. Its an annoyance at best, and I get it on 5 different browsers. The real question is "is this a game thing or a adobe thing?"

 

If it were adobe we'd have problems all round with it. It's DO since the message is a DO system made thing.

 

I am with you on that. Its another instance where I say, a QA team should be going over the code. With only 1 team doing everything, its no wonder finding problems take so long.
