[GI] DID YOU KNOW

Hi All,

This is the second time I have asked this question. I hope someone can help.

There is a box that pops out now and then that is called "Did You Know" it tell you about your performance. Then it said go here and change your settings. On one server I have done it several times. When I do it the screen becomes less active and not as real. It still keeps popping out no matter what I have done. What does it want and what should I do? Both servers have the box and I don't know what it is really asking me to do or how to satisfy it. My main problem is that it blocks my screen. I want to turn it off!!!!!!!

You can turne the box off underneath: settings -> interface -> show performance info <- Turne this off in game...

 

Gudinden He doesn't mean box as in map boxes, but a pop-up.

WarriorAngus Maybe your PC/laptop has a virus? Or maybe it's a stupid ad. Just get an ad blocker. Quote me and tell me whether getting an ad blocker worked.

 

It's the performance info box ther pop up whit that info on he's screen... I think ^^

 

Okay so I did not pop in on this as the OP received the correct answer already but since the answer has become disputed I must speak out.

So again the answer is that inside the CLIENT SETTINGS you can choose to get helpful "HINTS" to increase your fighting performance or not. With the Maintenance and other things being done in preparation for the server merge things are being reset to "default" causing us to have to make the changes again. I had these turned off and when they added the Kuiper Gate (to the test server) these were activated again causing all kinds of issues trying to do it and had to take time to turn them off on the TEST server too.

 

Hi All,

It (Did You Know box) wants me to go to "Display Setting" and change something. It says that my performance is low. It has a little arrow pointing to the icon "Setting" and I have been there many times. I have changed things but the "Did You Know" box keeps coming out. Even when I sit in the hanger/home base it will pop out. I'm not doing anything but sitting there. Thinking where to go next or do.

Seems to me you just aren't taking the time to read the post's or even read what the pop up window is telling you"basically it's telling you your computer is running slow and it's giving you options to make your computer run better with less lag".

Everyday I try to keep my computer working and updated. I clean and defrag everyday before I log off. I don't know what else to do in trying to keep my system up and running. If it is slow I don't know what else to do. I like being here and want to play and have fun.

READ what the others have said

 

Try updating your graphics drivers and flash player, if you have an old ATI graphics card you may find that no new drivers are available leaving you with 2 choices.

1. Lower your graphics settings.

2. Replace your graphics card with a new one.

Okay I will once again try to get you to understand this.

1. In the maps click on settings
2. click on interface
3. find "Display game performance messages"
4. make sure the box is NOT CHECKED

When this is done then you should not see these messages any more.

Sorry for late response from Mod team, seems like users clearly described how can you get rid off the "Did You Know" pop out. After following the steps from HelpMeHelpYou , do you still experience the difficulty ?

Settings:

1. In the maps click on settings: Did that (check)
2. click on interface: Did that (check)
3. find "Display game performance messages": Not Listed (Show ...) it is just a bunch of show me this and that.
4. make sure the box is NOT CHECKED: Don't have a box to check or uncheck. Looked in all tabs.

"SETTINGS" Tabs I have;
Display "I'm sitting at Good"
Gameplay
Interface
Sound
Keyboard

Don't know what else to do or go?

You should be able to find it just below "Show cargo..."/"minimap background", though I'll post a screenshot as well which hopefully helps you to find it(need to scroll down on it):
