[GI] Drill Formation

Hi
I would like to ask about this Drill Formation which gives:
Laser damage is increased by 20%; however, shield points are reduced by 25%, shield spread by 5%, and speed by 5%.

Are this 20% bonus dmg working on NPC too or its only about PVP fight ?
And second question- What does it means "shield spread" - the speed shields are getting regen or what ?

I'm going to buy it and use it to farm NPC faster and that's why I want to know everything before spend 150 k uri.

Works on all laser damage. Shield spread is how much hps/hull damage you take vs what your shields absorb. BO2 shields take 80% while your ship still takes 20% damage. With pilot bio you can up this ratio to 90% to shields and 10% to ship. If you used the drill then your ratio drops to 75% shield absorption and 25% ship or 85% shields and 15% ship with bio upgraded.

 

Drill is way better than Moth due to the fact you have backup shields withstand the 300k hits from the UberSibs and/or maybe lag and other hard hitting targets. That if you are free player that uses just lasers and not kami. Withstand a 50k hit then switch to Moth or other formations of your choice Who wants to play USA football rugby style Play with just hp (moth) or hp and shields (drill).
