    I'm wondering what I should equip to my drones. Is it better to put shields or lasers? Do the drones give stat boosts to lasers or shields? I guess the question is what is the best to equip my drones with.

    Always try to change config's for different applications everyone is different eventually you will find config's that suit yourself and not another player. My advice enjoy

    It depends on what you are doing. Like most players, I have ships with just lasers on one config and just shields on the other. Another ship has only shields on both configs. Some players have only lasers on both configs. It all depends on what you plan to do with the ship.

    Your drones do give a boost to both lasers and shields one gets 10% the other get 20% plus you get extra for upgrading the drones and the equipment assigned to them. Personally I equip my ships with a mix of speed and shield and to make up for the loss of shields on the ship I replace 3 guns with shields on the drones, but generally have them split between both items.

    As others have said it all depends on your playing style and what you are doing with your ship, defense, offense, NPC killing, or PvP hunting.
