  1. Need help with the math.
    Using standard ammo. X1 lasers and 2026 rockets
    Taking into consideration the differential in rate of fire of lasers and rockets , is the 3% loss in lasers ,worth the 20% gain in rocket damage. I have tried different approaches on attacks , on NPC's and my results seem to vary. Any more experienced opinions would be appreciated. TY

    Your damage...100%
    damage after(x)...97% with lasers

    e.g. my dmg is 3000-> 3000...100% rockets->3200(seprom)...100%
    x ...120%
    x:3200=120:100
    100.x=3200.120/100
    x=3840

    x:3000=97:100
    100.x=3000.97/100
    x=2910

  3. Rockets are not 100% unless using the targeter from Tech Center which can be used for 15 minutes but has a 5 minute cool down and costs 20K credits to be produced but takes 2 hours to complete. I know people who have these on all the time but I do not know if they have multiple production chambers or if these are able to be produced after one is completed and available on your ship. I will update after this has completed.

    Edit:

    I just started the second build of the Targeter and still have the original one ready to go.

  5. i lways used arrow, never taking into consideration the 3% less laser damage

  6. Yeah , I did not quite understand that math you laid out. I was looking for a more simplified explanation . This symbol (>) to me , means "greater than " so in this context it doesn't make sense.
    I have pulled BK's down to a corner and gone toe to toe in both configs. Where arrow leaves me with more shields than standard .But when circling , rockets seem to be occasionally out of range so I do not get the full benefit of the 20% boost.
    Because I have not upgraded all to lvl 16 and do not have all L4 I am hesitant about losing any damage . In other words I am undecided if it's worth losing
    I think what he means is building the same tech in two different ports , which I do not think is possible

    Hmm, didn't think of that. You may be correct. I've never tried either and have all three filled will take me a while to empty one for a test. I'm sure someone out there knows :rolleyes:
