Why can you repair iris drones with repair credits but you have to repair flax with credits?

Please keep in mind that I will not be upgrading to iris on this account but am trying to figure out why repair credits are not used on both.

 

You have a very valid point, the choice of how to use your repair credits you have collect from missions, GG spins, and BB's should be the players choice on how to use them and this should include flax drones. I think the reason that flax cannot be repaired with repair credits is they are not an elite item. The use of repair credits to repair flax would not have any effect on the game economics as you would be making use of what you have collected in the same way a player with elite equipment would.

 

thats simple rep credits are classed as uri items not credit item thats why like mp1s u use credits to upgrade credit items where uri item you use uri to upgrade them

 

Sorry to say but it has always been a matter of Repair Credits were for the Uridium required Repair of ship and was transferred to the drones, but only the Uridium Drones not the credit Flaxes, I can only assume this is because the Flax was classified as a temporary drone and was scheduled to be replaced with the Iris before they needed to be repaired.

As You have decided to play a CREDIT account you are traversing uncharted waters and as such going to find things that are not normal and going to generate much frustration in the game that was not designed to build the BEST CREDIT ACCOUNT possible, without the purchase of any ELITE items. I understand what you are doing but it is not a normal activity in the game and as such is not something that D O has even looked at because the issue has been a mute point, till now.

I would agree, though, you should have the option to use a Repair Credit or Credits to make the repairs to your drones, not be forced to use the credits for the repairs because it does not want to allow you to use the accumulated Repair Credits. I know you do not want to have Uridium items but this might be the time to re-think this and buy them via AUCTION, they are still bought with Credits and still classified as a Credit Account just having elite equipment that was purchased with Credits instead of Uridium.

I can assure you that the issue is not going to carry much weight with D O as it affects so few players in the game, and the script that would have to be changed is probably quite extensive thus making it ineffective to make the proper changes for the few affected by the issue.

hey, i just want to remind you that free player DOES NOT mean that you only own credit items. You can still buy irises, lf3, bo2, all the cool extra things for your ship, or even the ship itself! As a free player, you have to fully upgrade your skylab and get EVERYTHING from the auction house. And then, you can just spend the uridium you earn for the things you cant buy in the auction house.

Overall, dont have in mind that free player means noob player. Its just that a free player needs a lot more time to reach UFE, and they might just not be able to buy 1000 EMP-01, but 10-20...(its not an essential thing for a free player)

 

While true, in this case, I am going to be a noob player as I want to explore what the noob players contend with, and at the same time see how far I can take it.

You are correct though. You can play free and get all that stuff, which is what I do on all my other servers. On this one for this account I limit the ship, drones, lasers, shields, and speed gens. With that, this thread started as trying to figure out why something works the way it does. There will be more to figure out I am sure.

 

You have said interesting things. I am curious how far you will make, although experienced players can do a lot in credit ships too. Seems like a nice "adventure" you have there

Back on the topic, they made everything that is credit to be repaired with credits, cause Repair credits are kinda counted as unique items, so you can repair drones with them. When you get destroyed in credit ship, you can repair on spot with credits, which is super cool. I think that is the whole story behind the credit repairs, makes the game easier for new players, saving uri and taking away some credits.

 

This was the issue he brought up, since he is not planning on being in a URIDIUM SHIP and he IS getting "Repair Credits" Why can't HE Choose to Use Them Instead of his Earnings? We all know it is not in the NORMAL Game design but he is not playing in the game parameters of TRYING TO BE THE STRONGEST in the Galaxy, but the BEST CREDIT SHIP possible without using ANY ELITE Equipment or Items.

It is something that should be an OPTION for the player to decide, Repair ship FREE (with repair credit) or PAY to repair (Credits/Uridium). It should not be "He is in a credit ship/drone so he can not repair with the VOUCHERS we give away". I see his point but I can also see D O's point with it also, but it should have been an option all along.

 

I perfectly understood what he is trying to achieve. What I don't understand is why he would like to spend repair credits on Flax drones, when they can be repaired with credits?

 

Under these conditions, credits, like uridium, does not build up fast.

• I am in a Big Boy or Nostro, depending on what I am doing and flax drones.
• I am using LF2, which is good for a lot in this case but at the most, I am only using 16.

Now that I have all my credit equipment that I need, I am using credits for ammo and upgrades. I pickup every box I see so as to get more ammo and credits, and uri for that matter. But those upgrades take a lot of credits for every batch, which I save by only upgrading during upgrade hour.

Either way, I do the smart thing and repair at the stations when popped, although the amount to repair at a port is not that much. But when you are saving for upgrades, every credit counts. Its the same when it comes to repairing drones. Even though we are talking about flax drones, the amount you spend to repair them takes away from what I could use for upgrades.

Plus, under this scenario, what else would I use the repair credits for?

How much is the cost of the repair of one Flax drone on level 6?

 

it cost 12500 credits to repair one flax, which is also how much it cost to repair my nostro at the portal when popped, and 20k credits to repair the big boy.

 

Nice numbers, not too high. But I generally have no idea how much credit income you can make with credit only equipment

 

Its slow moving on your own, but really depends on how hard you are trying. If left to my own vices, without enemy attack or real world requirements, I can make about 6 or 7 mil in a day, but normally its about 3.5 mil. If I am in my normal group, it can get as high as 10 mil under the same conditions.

Playing is like your first month of play, only its all the time. I am in month 3, with 2 levels left on seprom in the skylab. I sell prom like a mad man, to help out but at only 1600 plus bio, its slow moving.

 

Got that.. At least what you are doing right now, you can share that with DO developers to let them know how it looks like to be only a credit player. I guess that you can give them some awesome ideas what to improve in order to give credit players more things to enjoy and the game to be much easier for them.

Hey, I know you only want to play with credit ships, but for transfers from the SkyLab buy a ship from Auction and PARK it in 5-2 for gaining credits faster. Only thing it needs to have is the Cargo Bay Expansion and you can gain a ton more credits per transfer. Save enough to bid on Citadel and transfer 8000 units at a time (if timed right could do 3 per day every 8 hours) and 5-2 gives a bonus for trading at the base. A Goliath does 6000 every 6 hours with only Cargo Expansion (no BIO, premium, or other advantages).

 

Yea, you get an extra 50 credits per Promerium sold at the 5-2 base. Or 300 extra if using PET Cargo Trader (this is assuming you have maxed out the transfer payment to 1000 with you honor) but the PET can be used anywhere but takes 30 seconds (level 3 gear without cooldown boosters) for the PET to be available for other duties, but then I figure you do not have the PET as it is a Uridium/FE piece of the game.

But as DogScout said for the purpose of selling ORE you should get the larger ship to make transfers with. Also when sending the ore to ship from SL are you in the Hangar with the larger cargo hold? It does not matter what ship you are in when it is received but to start it the larger is the best.

Enjoy the credit account, but don't forget to log into the main accounts, or D O will close them for inactivity. I also agree that a Repair Credit should be able to be used for any repair the player wants to use it for, Let The Player Decide if They Want to use it or not.

 

That is with premium but that idea has came to mind several times. I don't have premium on this account though.

I am saving up for the pets cargo trader level 3. My pet does not like the wait but what can we do. Also in my plan, which is going to take some time but I can do it, I am getting some cargo space protocols for the pet to enlarge my space. I do transfers with my bigboy as it has the most space. I am just over halfway on the honor at this time, something that got stalled due to me using x-formation.

Oh and trust me, as much fun as I am having on this account, my other account/servers do not get neglected. They just don't feel the love they used to.
