    There used to be a monthly or so event called JPA(Jackpot Arena), that if won you would win that in real money. But since there was too many players cheating/breaking T&C's(who won) it was put on hold and has been said there probably wont be any such similar event in the future, that can win money from again.

    As to what they are used for now, pretty much nothing. They might serve some other purpose at some point(I'm sure has been hinted before), or at some point may just get removed since they serve no purpose.
