[GI] few questions about the game

Hi all,

I was browsing the forum a bit and I have read some interesting info, so I have a few questions.
1. I am not doing any quests from last year as I got tired to be shot down all the time by higher level players. So I am only collecting boxes and doing Galaxy Gates - so am I considered as botter?
2. Are here any rules like: You must do quests, or Cubes or what ever or you will get banned after a time ?

Reason why I am asking is, that I am spending money for this game sometime more sometime less. But I want to play the game as I want. It means I am definitely not killing any other players - I have never killed anyone and all those quests (destroy enemy bla, bla) are out of my interest so I don't do em at all. I only play as I mentioned above and try to level up my ship drones and so on.
But if here are rules like, I must do it or I will get banned or so, than I am not going to invest more time and money here.

you're not going to be banned for playing the game the way you want to. i too shoot mostly npc's and do gates when i can. i don't pvp
because i'm simply not good at it, and the game is out of balance regarding pvp. but that is only my opinion. alot of people don't realise, that DO is a MMORPG. and as in any role playing game. it's what you make of it. some people shoot just npc's, like me, or shoot only other players, whether they're in a different company or not. i read somewhere that someone said the game EvE online is a sandbox for sociopaths. you could almost say DO is something like that too. but like i said, it's only my opinion.

 

Short answer - as long as you aren't doing anything that violates the T&C you won't get banned, and therefore the answer to both of your questions is no - you are not doing anything that is disallowed

The only thing I would add is do not BOX for hours on end without doing something else. It is my understanding after 2 hours the items collected drop in value. But otherwise however you want to play the game is up to you. I always boxed and killed the pests that came around to bother me. I did not box cloaked as it seemed I drew the attention of BOT killers if I boxed cloaked and wasted the cloak when I defended myself.

 

You can box if you like and do gates. There are lots of players that just do that. Some players live in pally and do gates as well. At any rate, with the amount of time that people have to play, boxing is something that fills that time frame and then they are off doing real life stuff. You will be ok playing how you play.

I play my way also, and don't get more powerful equipment and still slowly climb the ranks.

well, I am boxing cloaked as I don't want to be seen when some greedy enemy enter the map for easy pops. Than I always jump out of the map. Honestly I don't understand why on low maps are players hunting, that's no competition at all and its kinda poor to pop players who are just new to the game. And of course the top of that is when your own pops you.

 

All they see is they are working off the missions. Unfortunately, there is nothing that says a player must be within a range of your level, and few missions dictate what map to kill in. That said they just get who they see.

Oh and you are sooo right about the same company killers. I just log and go find something else to do for a bit so I don't get banned for saying the wrong thing. And trust me, there are lots of times I could just open up my book of all the bad things I am dying to say.

A: You won't be considered as botter since you are not using any third party programs to collect boxes.

A: There is no such rule you play the game as you would like to play it, be it doing gates, quests or hunting etc as long as it falls under the game regulations.
