  1. I have not played in a while and would like to know how to change to the new 3d format?

I did a search on the form "how to change to 3d from 2d " and nothing helpful came up.

so if someone can explain to me how to change to the 3d maps it would be greatly appreciated

    thanks in advance.

  2. 1. On your space map navigate your mouse on the upper left corner of your screen and click Settings (Gear icon).
    2. On the Display tab (first tab) you could see a check box named "Choose 2D version".
    3. Click on the check box to disable the 2D version and to enable the 3D version and then click "Save" on the lower part of the page.
    4. You will then ask to restart the client for the changes to affect so click "Ok".
    5. You can either wait for the log out timer or close the browser tab and then reopen the client.
    6. After starting the client, you'll be now on 3D.
    7. In case you want to revert back to 2D, repeat steps 1 and 2 and click the check box (check mark appears) and then repeat steps 4 - 6.
    8. Enjoy. :)

Note: Your computer/browser must support 3D graphics so you could use 3D version.

Tip: For smoother gameplay update your flash to the ltest version and use low quality flash.

    To use low quality flash:

    1. Start the client of darkorbit from the main page of your account.
    2. Before clicking the start button on the client , right-click the screen and this will appear.

    3. Hover your mouse on the quality and click on Low so that your browser would use lower quality flash for better Fps.
    4. Start the client.

You have to do this every time you open the client.
