[GI] inventory access problem

I see the small inventory screen in manage mode in hanger. I also see that you can open inventory to see your entire inventory. How do I move items from my big inventory to thethe small one so I can equip ship?......sooo confused and such a noob. Thanks for any help provided

Is this the screen that you are referring to?



If so, then simply, double click the item and it will be equipped on your ship.
You can also click and hold and drag it across.
Finally, for multiple items press and hold the ''ctrl'' key and left click and sweep across the items. They will be highlighted and simply drag or double click....The third option takes practice,

Dont forget you have to do this for both configurations as well as drones (both configs as well) The same applies to your pet.

To remove to the above but start with you ship inventory. The larger screen on your left.

These are the basics and are advanced options as well.

Also, if what you want is to 'view only' a smaller group of items, there is a drop down menu when you click Inventory and then also click the box along top right of the newly opened inventory screen.
You have the option of isolating the inventory stack to smaller segments like:

1. Ammo
2. Modules
3. Raw Materials Weapons
4. etc.

Note: I do not believe there is a way to actually move an item from this smaller selection screen to a larger one or vice-versa. It is just a view mechanism.

 

The actual answer to the question asked is;

The inventory seen when looking at the "small" EQUIPPING window, shows the items in inventory not assigned to other ships. The "Larger" or COMPLETE inventory will show everything that you own and as stated by @]Coldheart[ does have a drop down menu that will allow you to see these according to the filtering chosen. The filtered views will actually group everything into what they are and make it easier to see how many of an item you own.

Now if there is an item in the COMPLETE inventory but not in the MANAGE inventory then you need to see what ship it is equipped on and remove it (both configs if equipped to both), re-enter the Hangar system to be able to see the recent changes and then the item should be there to equip. There is no direct way of making the OWNED equipment available in a single hangar.
