    How much can people see?
I was just shot down as soon as red dot appeared on my mini map range(he was NOT invis)
I even can't realize how he locked me

does playing in 3D help there?

It depends on your computer monitor; the larger your monitor the larger your FoV will be. Yeah, 3d increases your FoV.

Sorry, for the delay in responding.

Honesty, your question, though valid, does not have an easier answer.
As far as the range is concerned....Yes there is a range at which a player can shoot on other players. There are many topics on forums regarding range.

This one gives you a brief overview of ammo/gun range, but it is not complete. Average Laser Range
You can also, type ''Range'' on the search bar in forums.

As far as locking and on other players and seeing them.....

    1. Some players have larger screens. I even know of some that play on 60'' T.V.s
    2. You can also, change your resolution in the settings section on the game page. (If you need help with that please let me know.)
    3. The player may have locked you previously and waited for you to get in range or o part of the map where said player can shoot you down without you being able to escape.
    4. Veteran Players can lock on other players very quickly, even when cloaked.
    5. Pure luck
    6. Third party software, AKA Autoloc: This is viewed as cheating and will not be condoned by Darkorbit. Auto-locking is a very touchy
subject and it is best to just let D.O. deal with those types of players. Please do not make accusations in chat or forums as this is not allowed and may cause you to have a chat/forum ban. There is a thread that may help you with this as well. Bots and Cheats

Does 3D help?? For me yes, however, it is personal preference.

I hope I was able to provide some help with your question. If you have any other questions, then please let me know.
I will leave the thread open, until you ask that it be closed, (or because inactive) as other players may be able to mention something I missed.

    Thanks,

    EHD

    Well,
    thanks for the awesome answer.
yes, I guess I'm not in the best situation
as I play on 15'' laptop
but as I mostly do PVE, it's not a big deal.
that laser range chart was helpful,
    thanks again
    & you can close.

    Welcome Eic-NeVaN,

There is a difference between 3D and 2D, 2D view is wider but in 3D you will see more from TOP and Bottom compare to 2D. I have done some testing and test the game in 4k resolution and different screen sizes up to 50inch, there is not big difference. Player only will be view in certain distance, you will not be able to see them no matter what screen size you got if object is not in the zone of your view.

Any more questions from OP ?

    -Toby
