[GI] little question about shields

I was traveling around on the darkorbit wiki to maybe figure out some stuff i didnt know and found this little bit of text:
A ship's shield strength can further be increased by factors such as:

• Having a shield bonus Skill Design
• Upgrading Seprom (+40%) onto the ship
• Shield Boosters (+25%)
• Having five pilot points in the Shield Engineering skill (+25%)
• Using both configurations with the same equipment (x2)

The last part about: Using both configurations with the same equipment (x2) do they just mean that you get 2x times the shield because you installed on both configs the shield or does it give some actual bonussus.

 

hi. sorry to be blunt, but if you are getting your research from outside sources then you might need to ask them and not here where it does not state that.

anyways, it just means if you have shields on both config's you may live longer by getting away from an UFE hammering you. for example, he blew away your shields on first config, YOU then switch configs with another shield loaded config to keep running awa.
