Say you have a kronos built.
You also have a Beta built that you did not require for the Kronos build.
Will the extra Beta be there after the successful completion of doing the Kronos?
Could not find similar thread.

Galaxy Gates will be available to complete/build until you build or complete that specific gate so no, completing that Kronos will not remove/delete any other gate.

As Kyro said, you will not lose galaxy gates, only Kronos part will reset and you will have to build it again with completing other gates, as each galaxy gate will represent a part for Kronos gate.

What happens to the Kronos part if he finishes his Beta before Kronos?

 

His Beta Gate will be completed but he will not receive extra kronos part from it if :

1. He has a complete Kronos Gate and he does not placed it yet on his X-1.
2. A 2nd ready Kronos Gate was not yet placed on the X-1 map because another Kronos was already placed on his X-1.
3. The Kronos parts that would come from completing Beta were already full even other Kronos Gate parts were not completed yet.

 

Ok, reading into the OP's question, I feel this was the information that was being asked for as it gives a more realistic outcome to going in the wrong order. This is also something I have been wandering for years.
