[GI] Mines

    Hey DO, first post on the forums! :D

    So I have been interested in mines lately due to how much damage they can do. Apparently, if you put all 5 points in Detonation in the Pilot Bio, you get 50% more damage, and with the Lancer formation you get an additional 50%.

    The mines I want to focus on is the DD-M01 (Which does 20% on hull) and SAB-M01 (Which does 50% on shields). How will the damage stack on to these mines? Since 20% and 50% is 0.2 and 0.5 in decimal respectively. Is it 0.2 + 50% = 0.3 -> 0.3 + 50% = 0.45 = 45% hull damage or 0.2 + 100% = 0.4 = 40% hull damage?

    If we do the same to the SAB-M01 mines, we get 0.5 + 50% = 0.75 -> 0.75 + 50% = 1.125 = 112.5% shield damage or 0.5 + 100% = 1 = 100% shield damage? Either way, those sound dangerous :eek:o_O

    Are my calculations right? Or am I wrong?

  2. First off, the SAB-M01 are not effected by any pilot points except explosion - shield damage is capped at 50% for mine damage for numerous reasons (which can be assumed that dealing a whole config of damage in 1 mine is way too overpowered and would unbalance the entire game)

    Also, from experiments that I have carried out (even though my mines are currently broken and dont hit the correct damage- notified support and is being 'investigated' [used loosely, not heard from in days]) DDMs hit on average 50% of hp with 2 points in detonate I and 3 points in detonate II. With Lance, it hits 75%. However, it is capped at this amount to stop mines from being too powerful. Even as it is, a Lance DDM, Kamikaze, Smartbomb and then swapping to Moth Formation is pretty much the same thing, just using more resources and taking more time to pull off. In a fight against anything other than an Aegis / Solace, provided you hit the entire combo, with use of ice rockets to time the kami etc, it's pretty much an instant pop.

    So in short you're saying SAB-M01's are capped at 50% at all times? That sounds better, imagine how that would go in UBA's / Jackpot Arenas!

    AS for DD-M01's, what are the calculations behind it? Your results are different than mine. Is BP going to answer that or is it something you just happen to know?
