[GI] No chat

  1. Recently , when I log on to space map I get a message that the connection was lost . Chat window is blank. Anyone else having this problem?

    Hello STARLIGHTHUSTLE,

    Occasionally this does happen. If the usually clearing of your various caches does not resolve the problem, I recommend rebooting your internet router/modem. Sometimes they cache information which needs to be cleared as well.

    If neither of those things resolve the problem, please write into support and include for them your internet address (IP address). You can find it by searching online for What is my IP, if you don't know it already.

    Hi, I had the same problem. The problem turned out to be Windows Defender or Windows Firewall https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345310(v=sql.100).aspx
    Check your public IP (my.ip.fi or ipinfo.io/ip or whatismyip.akamai.com) and nslookup for view established connections. You need fing port 9338 and domain globalchattool. bigpoint.net
     
  4. Sure does my chat is working in ga1 but game is jumping around so i guess the server is pretty messed up weird no one else is chatting about it..
     
  5. I cleared my cache and I use a wi-fi connection. But it used to work , so , I guess I'll try what you suggested . I just recently restored my original Windows 10 . The upgrade did not work for me for other reasons and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it
    Unless anyone else has some advice this is ok to close TY

    Many SOHO routers have stateful firewall. Check ur router to capture logfile and setting for UPnP or NAT masqarding.
    I recommend I use advanced process monitoring is Process Hacker

    Again you can use virtualization in-built in windows. Boot to VHD (Native Boot): Add a Virtual Hard Disk to the Boot Menu
     
  7. You might as well have been speaking Latin to me 'cause I understood none of that . My WI-FI is built in to my PC tower , and I do not have access to router of landlord who allows me access to system. But ,I know this same set up worked for a while when I first connected here.
    Someday I'll come back to your reply and see if I can rap my brain around what you suggested. TY for taking the time to try and help.

    Hello again STARLIGHTHUSTLE,

    If at all possible, see if your landlord would reboot the wireless router for you. If the suggestions above you've tried do not get you back into chat and you are not able to get the wireless router rebooted, I'd recommend writing support with your public IP address. You can find your public IP address by searching online for What is my IP, if you don't know what it is already.

  9. Hi everyone i had no chat either and nothing worked for me so i ended up writing support with my IP and chat was fixed by the next day. Enjoy

    It can happen if you play darkorbit on multiple devices on the same IP, like playing on laptop and on phone,, just so you know for next time
