[GI] NPC Kill point credits?

I have a question concerning NPC kill point credits.
I've noticed a lack of kill points credited for many of my NPC kills as long as I've played this game but have not questioned it till now.
The following account is an example of this incongruity.
Last night on USA East server my clan mate and I were engaged in hunting uber-battlerays and uber-kristallons in 4-5. Though my log shows 3 battlerays destroyed on that days engagement along with my share of xp and honor for each, my ranking log listed only one uber-battleray credited. 50 kill points instead of 150.
Does anyone know if this is because it was a group kill as in the kill points are only awarded to one member of the group?

 

As far as I know; it is only granted to the first person in the group that shoots said NPC.

If you want to obtain rank points you must shoot the NPC first. That counts for everything normal npcs, cubikons or ubers.
