    Does the radar protocolg enhance range alone or does it make the PET quicker and "smarter" to pick up boxes (eg. it goes to another box other than the one Im picking at the moment)

    It increases the distance it sees things (Enemy Locator) and travels away from your ship (Auto Looter) but has no influence on speed or close in actions. This FAQ might help with any PET questions you might have.
