    Does one find it better to equip his/her drones or P.E.T. with their better lasers

    Drones, then ship, then Pet.

    Drones give you an added bonus over the ship.
    The ship you use all the time.
    Pet gives bonus if you have pvp or pve laser protocals equiped, but most players don't use the pet, shooting or otherwise, all the time.
