[GI] Star Formation Question

Hey everyone,

let me just announce I love this newest update, all the drone formations have been adjusted! I feel like this will get people to diversify their playing style a lot more.

For those who have the Star formation or have recently bought it, I noticed it gives a 10% evasion bonus. I already have Evasive Maneuvers II, so would this formation stack well and be worth purchasing? I don't know how significant this evasion bonus is so I am unsure about purchasing it.

For example, would this formation be optimal for running away, or would the Wheel and Diamond formations maintain their status as the best for escaping from players?

 

You are dealing with 2 different things here. Are you fighting or RUNNING? In a fight you might use the Star after you have depleted the shields provided by RING, but if running the Wheel gives the best speed for that.

Best option for you will be to try this out for yourself so you can see which formation work best during different situations. From my point of view wheel formation is good formation to escape from players and counter. Diamond formation does recharge your shield but the damage players deal this days is useless in most of the fights - it's still good to quick recharge your shields but that when you combine this with wheel formation to escape, chose diamond formation to start recharging your shield and counter the aggressor.

Due to the evasion star is actually the strongest formation right now. Nothing can compare to making someone MISS attacks entirely on you. It gives you such a huge bonus, very soon everyone is going to exploit star and they will have to rework it again.

The only thing Star doesn't excel at right now is killing NPCs but for PvP, it's an absolute must get, what's the point dealing 100k damage when the other person can deal 75k damage and evade your attacks entirely? The same logic applies to ring. Trust me, this formation is the strongest.
