[GI]upgrade hour

I have been looking for the upgrade hour so I can upgrade. Well it now seams to be moved to a new time slot. it's still at 1900 hours but now that the west coast server has been change to the east coast server us folks who live on the west coast and are working folks just got screwed on the upgrade hour. By moving it back 3 hours we work a normal day job have lost the chance to ever use it. So now it's 4pm not 7 pm west coast time. most of us who work are working. I hoping they fix this issue. Anyone else have this issue?

 

I understand your frustration. I actually live in central, have to keep up with a work schedule for the west coast and help customers on the east coast. Now that your mind is wrapped around that, I have missed out on upgrade hour the past 3 times due to work. When I have caught it, its out of pure luck. I have to do it on my phone and I suppose I could set up an alarm but its still no guarantee I would be able to get anything done.

 

That would be an issue. We do not have cell phones at work, if you need to use your phone you have two breaks and a lunch to do so. Our thinking is your here to work not play on your phone and sagging pants would get ya fired " big Safty issue". They should have put a thinking cap on to see how those little things affect the players. The thing is DO doesn't care about it's players that have jobs and work. All they want is folks to stay on as long as they can and pay money to do so. All events for the past few years are for the top 10% of the players who live in the game not your average player. I still play not anywhere as much as I use to. I have a feeling that when THE ADOBE FLASH PLAYER goes away so does this game. Have fun PSK see ya in the maps.

 

Upgrade hour only comes once in a blue moon so if your starting your upgrades you wouldn't save much uri. I usually upgrade whatever to atleast lvl8 then they start getting expensive then i wait for upgrade hour so save big uri on the bigger upgrades. Would take forever to upgrade something to full lvl 16 if you waited for upgrade hour always. Cheers

 

I really hate to use a line from another player on here, only because I hate seeing the player that is always using it, but "that is not the point." Your right, it does take a long time. I used upgrade hour to fully upgrade my flax drones and rocket launchers, took a good year to do so. The problem is that even if you were at the last few levels, work will get in the way due to the scheduling of the game. Also, anything you can manage to save on, helps.

One thing your missing. DO has 25% off on some "Daily Bonus Calendar" end of the advent calendar. The 25% off works on upgrades too not just in the store. They don't have it much, but when they do use it to it full advantage. It also works on Apis and Zeus drone if I remember right (if you don't have one) it may be a time to get it. So If you are prime you will get it. I know what you are going to say. DO is in you pocket again. That is when I go crazy in buying all that I need. If you add the mega deal on Uni. Oh Boy.

Maybe then they should bring in something like instead of upgrade hour keep the name but allow all players to have 1 hour a month of 25% upgrade discount doesn't matter when they use it. So after you use the hour whenever you have time it goes back to regular price, this way the player and the company both win. The players get the discount when they need it and the company is assuring the players are using up some uri.

I'm not a programmer or a computer geek so I don't know if it would take a lot of work in rewriting the program. But I like your Idea!

Unfortunately DO has never been known to implement anything that might be considered 'fair" or "balanced" to the whole player base. Catering for the minority has always been easier so that is what they do.
