[GI] What benefit is there to leveling up pet?

Is there any benefit besides unlocking more stuff and slots? I've heard rumors that the pet will venture out more on higher levels.

 

As you level up the pet, you are able to use more lasers, and shields.

When your pet gets to level 8, you can use level 3 gear and protocals which allow the pet to do more further out from you, like when collecting. If you are not FE, I would not worry about getting the the pet to level 15. Just go with the flow. The pet is expensive to have, and to use. Opening slots is costly.

So is the rumor that the pet will venture out more on higher levels, IE your pet will work better with the same setup still has yet be addressed. How much truth is in that?

The little bonus depends on what you have and what you have opened up. Per the link you were referred to twice now, your pet will start with the following:

1 Laser slot
2 Generator slots
2 Gear Slots
2 Protocal Slots

In the end, at level 15 the pet can have the following:

10 Laser slots
17 Generator slots
6 Gear slots
12 Protocal Slots

This is just the start of it, and you pay to open up each slot as the pet levels up. Please take time to read the extensive material in the link above. You will find that to get the answer to your question, you just have to read into the information that is given. The Pet is your expensive battle buddy. Keep it fed and treat it good and you will find it helping you with a lot. At least mine helps me......when it is not lost.
