Is it time to cut your losses and leave Dark Orbit in the dust for the newer MMOs out there?

  1. Yep, new players are too addicted to their console games with there god-like cheat codes that allow you to finish the game in a weekend...

Or was it a day??

  3. This game is definitely improving i can see.
I am seeing more activity and for me it's a classic.I don't see myself quitting as I am right on the cusp of farming GG after so long It still feels so far away though.

I can say for certain i'll stay with the game till the end seeing as I thought it had ended some time ago when seeing and ufe in the uppers stopped scarring you because you knew they where botting. Now, on my server, i can see that I have to watch my drone dmg and that 10k x4 from that GG you just did is gone along with that sep you insta'd.I jumped into 3-4 and saw Ufes stacking fes with Uber noobs and it was awesome! I really hope this game comes back because i do every time.

Although, we aren't quite back to the prime years, i think we may be entering the golden ones.Who knows...

Btw somebody gimme my pretty fats back!:D

  4. I appreciate everyone's comments and have a few to add.

The fact that the game was overrun with cheats and imho they didn't make the right moves to correct it made me quit paying/playing for 2 years out of the 4 that my account has been around. 6 months quit after total frustration of buying things like box doubler. First I couldn't get a lot of boxes since a blue dot would snatch it right out from under me, then they started the diminishing payout crap.

Then I came back right around the UI update and the infamous stage 1 garbage. After I heard players repeatedly bragging they recovered quickly from the slap on the wrist bio reset(considering the mountains of gear and uri remained intact) I was disgusted and found a new game. Lucky for BP it was one of theirs.

I don't think I can let it go. Maybe this is the underlying issue with me.

They gave us a hangar hall and a spearhead. I would have felt better if they came to my house and slapped me in the face.
Try 5 million uri to honest players who suffered years of abuse. That would have saved the game for me and countless others. Bots were just a fraction of the problem, don't forget auto lock and all the others.

They do realize I earn my money through hard work? My 1000$ wasn't virtual currency to line their pockets that was
    REAL
    WASTED
    MONEY

And to further lower my self worth, I can't breath a word of this in global. I know who they are and I know what they did.
They didn't just steal from BP they stole from me and my children!

And now the Demaner event is another joke. No new player can dream of touching those purple boxes. The scum have figured out dropping non stop mines on everyone and then sitting on them with Aegis's whilst them and their buddies take turns thinning the herd with more mines to corner the purple box drops.

Now my calling them out in global for this has marked me permanently for death and zero fun. On top of the endless mines I'm shot at when I get near it. The answer shouldn't be me going along with bad behavior, I choose to stand up and call them what they are. Cheats.
Petulant children and adults alike acting a fool.
At this point I think the dev team could care less; they created the gd garbage.

An event that that further helps strong players like me and shafts the little guy is unethical. Do they teach ethics in business in Europe? I've attended colleges in the USA and I assure you they do.

Not only this but any simpleton can see it's not drawing in new players. In fact it has done the opposite.
That little survey they put out now is a dead giveaway there's trouble brewing for the current dev team.

And unfortunately for the abused players past present and future this is my last rant.

I'm going to try to enjoy the game and when I no longer do, I'm gone.

    Sincerely,

  5. It's true buddy, but the new tutorial missions are really good know, if we are honest. They give 3 LF3 I think, and 3 BO2. That's a good start though, that was never given before. If the new players from the beginning start doing the missions and not ignore them, they will get some good amount of uri/credits and can progress faster.

The thing is, not many people want to share the experience/help the new players how and what to do to develop faster. :)

  6. A lot of the group of cheaters you cite at the beginning of your post are the same people blocking the access to the Demaners. Just a bunch of greedy, selfish low-lives. What can you expect? The problem is that some of them spend a lot so Dark Orbit caters to them and will do nothing to level the playing field. There are some really good people in the game and some real garbage too. We all know, on our own servers, who is who. I just go on my merry way in this game and pick my battles carefully knowing who tends to use what 'shortcut'. I have no delusions of being top player or even getting all lf4s.

Not worth it. I'm basically here for in-game friends and to chill out. My money stays in my wallet.

  7. New player development isn't our job, when a new player asks 40k questions it's the devs fault for not providing a proper tutorial.

Tons of spam offer windows are annoying at best to new people.

The "deals" obviously need to be sweetened they aren't working.

Hello. First of all, sorry if my english it's not perfect, is not my native language.

I have stopped to play this game this year, in february. I had an UFE acc, 3 stars and I've played since more than 5 years. Why I have stopped? Because I think the game it's not funny anymore. I think everything started with the moment when they puted that CPU in game, to jump everywhere you want. In that moment, PvP maps started to be EMPTY, because they made the mistake to give thousands of jump credits and was so easy for everyone to be in a place in 10 seconds.

Second and the worst thing which they have putted in game is paladium. Paladium would be a good idea, to help players to improve their equipment as long as BP had made so many upgrades and not everyone can spend lot of money to buy it, BUT the bad thing which ruined the game was that 90% of the clans made NAPs for that map. This global alliance which exists on all servers, which ruined the events like domination has started from paladium. Because 2 clans which don't attack each other in 5-3 started to help each other against clans which were just hunting there. They started to feel bad to shoot each other in x-6, when 15 mins before they were on the same side, fighting against the same enemy in 5-3. So that's how they changed from NAP in 5-3 to NAP on all the maps...and later maybe in alliance. I am one of those clans which was collecting there. At the begining we were shooting everyone who was not EIC, same corporation like us, but later others clans started to made NAPs and we were fighting alone, so when they proposed to us to make NAP, we agreed, because if all the server did that, how can we survive playing by others rules? And some of those players (some of them same nationality like us), when we were fighting in 5-3, started to use our TS and that's how they became our friends and from NAP we made alliance.

When I left, the server was made by 2 big alliances, every alliance with players from all the corporations. On domination even was IMPOSSIBLE to participate most part of the times. When I went there, I've saw 2 players another corporation, which had alliance with me and help me many times to protect CBS or whatever. Of course I can not shoot them. Enemies came, members same company like me, but in war with my clan, those guys helped me to kill them. And so on...

I don't cry for the money I've putted in, was one of my hobbies, I put money in game to make my game easier and I don't regret this. The only thing is I am sad in some way I have quited (also happy I have much more free time for me), but I just didn't like the idea of game anymore. The main idea was a war EIC vs MMO vs VRU, not like is it now.

  9. True, player development is not our job, but it does make the game more fun. You meet new players that way and the new players get a warm fuzzy about the game environment. They need that if they are to stick around in the game. If they always get the cold shoulder from company players, they will definitely leave after getting popped 30 times on day one.

  10. Exactly, well said. You can't say: "It's not on us to help people". It's a MMO, at some point someone helped you, maybe it's to time to help too?

  11. This is how I got my first Fe account.
Along with some uri purchases down the road but on day one I was welcomed into a amazing clan and was given everything I needed to continue playing I was with that clan for three years.
Long story short help out new members it's a good investment for you and your clan.

I play this game since 2009, I see many things going on and on. Do I complain ? a bit to be honest. But that doesn't mean that I will hate it and complain more and more. You might not know but Dev's have really tough job of making decisions as every decision they make will impact on the future of darkorbit. In six years game change very much for bad?? I don't think so, I seen that people hate when they introduce EMP's, ammunition x4 etc. but c'mon you would get bored after a year of playing of first version of darkorbit, the job that Dev did is excellence after playing these six years I did not get bored that much as I'm not a type of player who would play games every day every night so that must mean something am I right? We need to know that people working on this game are not robots, they are humans like us they can make mistakes and we/them have to learn from it. Also you don't have to spend money on it? Does darkorbit says that you must pay to play? You can pay but that is only your decision, and don't put all crap on Bigpoint that you spend fortune on it as it's your fault. I spend money on this game and I will always do as I want to support this game as much as I can. If you don't like it why you play it? If I hate something or I don't feel happy about I don't do it simple? But this is my thoughts.

You might not know but Dev's have really tough job of making decisions as every decision they make will impact on the profit of darkorbit.

I seen that people hate when they introduce LF4, ammunition x6, item upgrading, etc.

the job that Dev did is horrifying after playing these six years and i'm really glad that they finally punished botters after 2 years or seprom bug exploiters. /sarcasm

    FTFY.

  14. Kind of like when the titanic hit an iceberg and was sinking, they told people not to worry the ship is unsinkable and to go back to their rooms.

"Currently we show many players on your server, it is not considered a dead server by any means. "

Guess where I heard this gem.

Game is geared towards former cheaters ...there is nothing else to say about direction it has taken since so called bot destruction...tey sent great message with that one ...cheat/bot all you like but if you spend money as well you are safe from bans...meanwhile some free player sees all boting and cheating going on and downloads free bot and gets banned second day or something.

Players are complaining that servers are dead ...enjoy them ,you made them that way with constant noob bashing or have allowed it to happen by not dealing with bullies that never killed anything bigger tan nostro..

I made clan just to help new players ...got 38 of them in clan just to get wars from most of so called top clans in my company ,add to that all noob killers from other companies and you get reason why only one of 38 still plays on some days

Everything that has been said about events here is true ,they are rubbish in their present form, why not make events just for UFE's and be done with pretending...

To get LF 4 from boxes you need to work just for this game ,all money you earn buy keys...1000 keys since coming back ...0 lf 4 ..on so called lf 4 day

Lets not forget what they did to bonus boxes ,i refuse to box with boxes as they are why bother spending 5 + million on boxing bio + pet then buying box doubler to box 15 k uri per hour if you lucky ....i can almost make that cubing or killing ubers

If they put as much effort into improving game as they have done in changing their T&C to protect themselves we might get game that we deserve.

  16. I agree with you about the Developers.....their masters are the senior leadership of Big Point not the customers. The problem with Dark Orbit has always been ... slow to fix issues, quick to cheapen the product.

However.... The players themselves are largely to blame for the environment in the game... bashing noobs for easy kills, using 'shortcuts' to gain for themselves, bad behavior, dishonesty, etc. When I started playing this game, there was a bigger sense of community. When noobs were picked on, the big clans came to protect. Company killers would be hunted relentlessly. Battles were large and furious. People would help you without asking and the path to making friends was to help others. Old school players remember this. That sense of community dwindled with the botting and to see 'former' botters with their decked out ships and smug attitudes still playing is an insult to every honest player. When this game dies, and it will, those of you who bled it dry for your own character failings.... it's on you.

  17. Great times! how I wish to be a "noob" again in those times. Clans declaring war against other clans to defend their clan members, respect through out the community members and Each Company for their own.

Sorry to hear †~Death~from~Above~†, hope to see ya some day in the game, server, etc.

  18. Ya unfortunately for the new players I have a new policy of taking full advantage of everything the UFEs get for cheap from the events. Tons of ammo, free gear, bountiful kills off the Npc, membership in a top clan, and enjoyment of the game.

Contacting the devs is not possible thru here or the ticket system so I choose to never try again.

I'll continue to enjoy the game and when I no longer do, I'll quit again.

The customer service is so bad here I refuse to give any more money until I'm treated with the proper respect due to an honest loyal customer. There are other games out there to play.
