yep its that simple a chip/extra that would allow a ship to "DOCK" with a clan battle station at a module or the hub. The chip could only be used on a drone and would create a physical connection with the module and effectively take over fire control from the base AI. In the case of docking with the battle station hub 2 chips/extras would be required but would allow for the pilot to take over the fire control from the base AI altogether.

On a side note why not a refinery module for the production of seprom on the space maps ::pP

I already see a major problem with the first idea- focus fire on one enemy and the other enemies attacking would destroy your CBS before you destroy your one target!
(I'm not refuting your idea, just identifying one possible draw back)

Second idea-I don't get what you mean :/

As with anything in this game anyone using such tech would have to learn how to use the tech to their advantage. In the case of "docking" with a module only the fire control of the single module would be assumed by the player and since the player would be "docked" with the module they would essentially provide "cover" for the individual module. Only by docking with the central hub could a player assume fire control for the entire station. Docking with the central hub would provide "cover" just as with a single module. A bit of brainstorming -!-!-!- maybe allow options for taking over just missiles or only lasers, maybe a setting for a "zone defence"

The second idea was just a thought. instead of relying solely on skylab for seprom production, allow seprom to be produced at a clan battle station that is equiped with a "refinery module".

  4. It would be nice to control the fire/targeting system, but I think the AI does it best. You control the ship which has firepower. It is already in your hands.

  5. I think you're better off letting the AI do the shooting for bases. Those things lock better than anyone but the magicians :p
