How do I get a Design for a Drone? (e.g iris)

I keep hearing about receiving drone designs from doing galaxy gates or something but I honestly don't understand what that means.

Are galaxy gates events? are they like pirate booty cases? I have no idea. If someone could elaborate from top to bottom on galaxy gates or perhaps how to receive a drone design then I would b grateful.

There are two Drone designs you can get. One is HAVOC and other one is HERCULES.

You can earn this designs with doing Zeta and Kappa gates.

Zeta gives HAVOC.

Kappa gives HERCULES.

But don't forget ; you can get %100 Havoc from Zeta for first time if you you've complete the gate. But you can't do it in Kappa. Drone design dropping chances are %15.

If you apply all of your drones with Havoc design , your ships gives %10 more damage.

If you apply all of your drones with Hercules design , your ship earn %10 more shield.

a galaxy gate is something you build, click the galaxy gate tab and you will go to the galaxy gate page, On the left is a list of gates you can build, on the right is the materializer where you build the gate by clicking the green energy bar, You can spin it with uri or gate spins you collect from bonus boxes. loonie tunes is correct that zeta gate give chance havoc design and kappa gate chance Hercules design.although the design effects stated are incorrect, you will find correct design effects here.

+ 10% more damages on Laser Cannons equipped on drones when ALL drones are equipped with Havoc designs.

+ 15% more shield energy for all shields generators equipped on the drones wearing one of those designs!
Extra Bonus!
If all of the drones are equipped with the Hercules design, then there is a set bonus of an additional + 20% HP!

average number of zeta or kappa gates is approximatly 35 to complete a set of designs..,It may take less or a lot more to complete a set.
21 zeta gates for 10 havocs and 51 kappa gates for 10 hercules are my numbers. As you can see the number of gates you need to complete can vary quit a bit... good luck
