How to use the search function on the old forum

As many of you know this is the "new" forum, once upon a time, we had another forum where there is now 6 years worth of archives we cannot use the search function for. This can be frustrating.

However! I have found a way to search the forum and wanted to post it as I'm sure others will find it useful.

Step 1: Find a bigpoint game which still uses the old boards, I used Deepolis.

Step 2: Register.

Step 3: Go onto their forums so you are now logged in on a "old forum" account but in another game.

Step 4: Go to the old DO forums, here is the link - http://en.board.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/

Aaand you're done

Few things worth mentioning, you can search but not post in or create threads. You can still search through your old forum profile to find posts you may have made in the past which you wish to post on here.

It is also worth mentioning, this might not be available forever as other games might change over to new forums or close down entirely. Might be worth making this a sticky until that happens? I don't know up to mods to decide that.

I've been doing this for a while .but its easier of u just use a link from an old thread then u just search normally

 

Just go to any search engine and type in your question and it might go to the old forums or the new depending on the answer.

 

I just put in google:

That narrows the google search down to the old forums and hey presto
