Icy's were out, now there gone

As the title says, on East 3 server at least, Icy's were out from about 2pm to 4pm server time...They seem to be gone now. I was wondering if it is a mistake they are gone , or a mistake they were out to begin with >?? Thanks.

The Icy's are a special event that will appear in game for a limited amount of time and then they will be gone until the next event. If they are not on the server you are currently playing then we can only figure that the event is over.

Thanks, They WERE out on my server,,,for two hours , with no announcement they were coming, see what I am asking now ....??

MY QUESTION WAS : was this supposed to happpen? and can I expect then to come back ? I can guess the answer is no but thanks for trying to answer. you can close.

Icy's and other special NPC's are special events NPC's as stated by my colleague. There is no set standard frame of time for which they have to be in the game for. To answer your question there were no technical issues that resulted in the Icy's being on, just like other special event NPC's they come and go at random.

Hmmm ..a random 2 hours of Icy's ( not a whole day), with no announcement about it ?? That's how it was supposed to work on that day ?? If you say so .

I was happy to see the Icys, even if it was only for two hours. Since this 2 hour span was no glitch as you say, can I assume it may happen like this in the future, rather than whole set days that are announced in advance, as used to be the fashion ?

Honestly, for the special NPCs, I'd rather they didn't announce it. Make it a surprise for people that are logged in and you don't have quite the huge numbers of people all going after the same thing.

 

That is ok with me too Bob..I'm just teasing the Mods here since they didn't want to answer honestly the first time...Or just say "We don't know"...

They were trying to act like this was "normal" when it was an obvious glitch....Was kinda just testing them to see if they would be straight with me ....they failed.

PS. no hard feelings tho. I know all you mods work hard to help us...Just wish you would answer questions honestly...instead of copy and pasting an event FAQ which I have seen many times before ...Its OK to say "I don't know, I'll look into it"

 

Hmm, this happened on GB2 as-well. However, on GB2 they were only on for 1 hour Haha! Many just made an assumption of Icy's being turned on by mistake, when it happened. :L

 

I know that several people have mentioned that the Icy's arrived without warning... However this may have been posted on your home page just prior to arrival. However if you had been playing a long time and not refresed the back page or Home page it may have not appeared. This is just a thought on what might have happened.

Sorry I dont have a better more definate answer, as for us here in forums these are random. Since we are not logging into a ship with a home page to see the events as they happen.
