  1. I have been playing this game for almost 4 years now and I logged in tonight and was struck with multiple add options and had to result to an add block. For all the years I have played Darkobit, this has never happened so why now?

Probably got some malware on your browser or something that spams ads.

Unless you mean like all the pop-ups at the start like 50% of 150k uridium offer and daily log in bonus, then that's been around for a long time. So I'm guessing that's not what you are referring to.

  3. I already use ad block, ads cause more lag too so i get rid of them.

  4. I checked my antivirus and it's fine, plus I am careful on what I click and how I use my search engine. Now I have this green Jollywallet bar on the top of my page which only comes on from Darkorbit and I have an ad in game too, the only way to get rid of it is by going into full screen mode, I shouln't have to do that because there shouldn't even be no ads in the first place.

    Yeah, Jollywallet is malware.
You probably unwillingly downloaded it along with something else and it would have been something you would have had to untick etc, so that's why your anti-virus didn't pick it up, as far as your system is concerned you accepted it to be installed.

If you google jollywallet almost all of the results are how to remove it.

  6. Okay, thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you Owning, that is correct. Does the OP have any further questions for this issue?

  8. Not all pop-ups & malware come from what you download.

Okapi32 is right in the main. However, there are things which you can download from some trusted & reputable websites that are actually hidden in what you download & are not optional extras.

I find that creating periodic restore points invaluable. If you download something & start having problems, I find that restoring your system to a safe point before the download is quite often a better option than blocking it is removed from your system totally.

  9. The ads (or malware as we call it) wont be hardcoded or made to interrupt your flash player, as the flash player is streamed information and not solid files which can be tampered with.

A good program to remove malware or other nuisances which attack your browser is to get Spybot Search & Destroy, always will be, and always has been one of the most effective browser cleansing tools of our time. As this software actually scans the browsers on your system (also registry keys associated), and not just Windows system files or packages.

  10. most of the adds and malware come from software downloads when u download free software they install loads of useless stuff like reg fix toolbars and so on

    Hello,

The above is correct, and I would add there are a number of other good free tools that can help you clean your system out. Doing a simple search about malware removal will bring up a good selection. I am closing this as it has run its course here.

Thank you for your input and help from those who posted, and best of luck to the OP in restoring your system.

    Have a great day!
