Is the road to UFE just too long?

Hi guys, 6 weeks ago I started playing again of (GB1), and i expressed how i felt about the game then on this post http://www.bigpoint.com/darkorbit/board/threads/just-joined-again-after3-years.99865/.

Since then I have tried to start playing the game again, but there are just a couple of things that make me wander whether I am wasting my time shooting cubes and bks for farming.

Currently I am at 4/35 LF4. I have no idea how I'm ever going to get there as kappa gate only has 25% chance of getting one, that means 124 more kappa gates?! I am always very unlucky when it comes to pirate bootys idk why, but I have opened maybe 500-600 and only have gotten 3 LF4 from them so far, that cost me approx 800k URI for 3 lf4 . I am also aware of a quest that I can get an LF4 but then again, to unlock that I need to kill over 100 nme, and try that with 4 LF4!

Now, I don't necessarily mind it taking that long, since that is sorta part of the game, but what I do mind is that I still see countless UFE accounts that have obtained it either through exploiting bugs, or those who have just botted for the first 3-4 years of this game's existence who had 50 mill uri when LF4's/herc/havoc got released and pretty much got them overnight, all just for... well about £35- for the prem bot. Why are the people with 50mill sep on their ship (who exploited the sep bug) still around? Or the people who exploited the ??? map x4 bug who have 20mill X4 still around? Do you honestly think i am gunna do a gate specifically for the x4 ammo when in the back of my mind I remember that there was somebody who got all of this FOR FREE? Why is the solace bug, which people use to pop cubes while AFK, or LOW bug users still around (yes low bug is still here!). Apart from that there are still those undetectable pixel bots, or macros that click randomly on a map and let pet collect bonus boxes, gets about 100k uri a day, also doesnt get detected.

I appreciate there are about five-thousand different ways of bugs popping up (just think about it- there are currently no bugs to get unlimited creds through trade, or bugging a pirate chest to give you free keys etc..) but bp gotta realise, when just one pops up, its really ruins the game. As someone posted on eletepvpers, you can earn in 1 day (using bugs) what would normally take you a month, so if a bug is open for 2 weeks before it is patched, its about a years worth of earnings (if its a good one), definitely worth a 30-day bann in my personal opinion, I could use that time to work on my mini anyway. Nothing the developers can do here anyway, could they really perm. ban 20% of the players on a server? Don't think so.

Comparing this game with Clash of Clans (only because that's the only other game where I have a very high level account on which is have spent many hundreds), I find this game a lot less enjoyable, because there are only ever about 5 people on at the time when I play at one point, (in mmo chat) i typed /users, and just my name came up. Depressing. I also only really have a choice of about 5 clans or so, all the other are inactive- useless. In CoC there are thousands of clans screaming to have you- which makes me feel a lot better than this game where there is nobody to talk to. The developers of CoC (i find) are a lot friendlier and listen to what the players want (not going into specifics because you're probably not interested in that).

The thing I hate the most is that I can hit 45K max with double booster etc, and when i try to get into a 1v1 with a UFE ill die in just a couple of seconds, sometimes i die before i even get a lock. The worst thing about this is that i have spent over £500 on this useless account that is worth absolute jack! If it takes me 2 more years to become UFE then I will have to suffer 2 more years of getting raped in battle maps by UFE, if the game is even around in 2017.

What do you guys think? worth chasin' it or not?

 

You have said you spent 500-600 keys for 3 LF4, right? Nice luck man, I have spent ~500 keys, not a single LF4, only 1 LF3. Don't complain on that

Second, LF4 Havocs Herc are meant to be rare items. That means, it must be hard to get them. If everyone has these things, what will be the fun in game?

Solace bug that came up recently is new stuff, and hasn't been around before, as far as I know. Every software (including games) have bugs. As I am personally a developer, I can tell you one thing. Developers always look for bugs, but most of the bugs can not be found that easy. Usually, 90% of the bugs are found by costumers (players in this case) who unintentionally/intentionally experimented with something.

Third thing, fighting vs UFE's shouldn't demoralize yourself. UFE's are called for a reason, you can't fight with 3 LF4 against someone that has 45 LF4, let's say. It is a simple matter of numbers, so don't mind that.

Fourth, LoW has NO bug. The behavior of what people call bugging Falcon, is a normal behavior of EVERY NPC in the game. Simple as that.

In the end, personally I like the game. Have played it for a long time, especially on that first versions. Everything can be achieved here without paying 1$. This game just takes time to become better and better. You can pay thousands of dolars, but you won't understand how the game work, so everyone will shoot you again. The power is not in money, my friend. Knowledge is the power, trust me. I am basically nothing "special" player, let's say standard FE Goliath fighter, working my UFE way at the moment. You absolutely have no idea how many times I have killed full Havok/Herc players in face-to-face battle without jumping ports to repair. Knowledge is the power, remember that.

 

Do not start by building Kappa gate! That is the biggest mistake many people do.
Kappa gives 5 keys, 10 logdisks and 15k uri + 16k from aliens = 41,5k total worth
Zeta gives 25 keys, 50 logdisks and 35k uri + 13k from aliens = 100k total worth!!
Zeta is also much cheaper to build. Hercs are not that important trust me. You can get them after your ship is at good overall condition.

If you do 30 Zeta to reach full havoc you will have gotten 750 keys for free from them. Best way is to build Zetas with extra-energies and use all uridium you receive to booty keys. If you use Uridium from Zeta also to keys you will get +50 keys from a single gate! With extra-energy only strategy you will have gotten +1500 keys.

I started again from 2 LF4 and 2 Havoc pretty much exactly 2 years ago. Now I have 38 LF4, 10 Havocs and 2 Hercs and everything upgraded to level 10 or above. I have spent money only for premium and rebate packages every now and then. Many of my friends who have concentrated on Kappa gates are suffering with 15 LF4 and full Herc. I beat them 6-0 in a fight.

What I did:
0: Found absolutely awesome group of players!

1: Spent all my allmost all of playing time collecting palladium and building Zetas, using all uri earned from Zeta also to keys.

2: Always used the few hundred keys on Zeus-day, this is very important!! By the time you have gathered 20 parts to Zeus you will have gotten Apis-drone for free. Should take around 500-1000 keys, closer to 500.

3: After purchasing Zeus with 200k uri my damage was already very high. Now it was time to start opening chests during LF4 days. Now it is 1 LF4 for each 100 keys.

4: When I reached full havoc I already had almost 20 LF4

5: I just started enjoying the game At this point I managed to solo Cubikons easily and I had gathered millions of x2 ammo, so getting the rest LF4 was not hard. It took about a year but they came slowly and steadily.


It is possible to reach UFE in a reasonable amount of time if you do the right things Always come and ask on forum what direction should you take if you are not sure.

 

I find this as very useful advice for me too, as I am currently try to find my path to UFE. I know it is out of topic, but if you can share some more experience how and what to do, will be nice for all I think.

 

Hey don't be spreading these tips around, ssshhh!

Focus on Zeta, very good advice. In fact, only do Zeta for a long time.

When you open chests and get a crap item like an Lf3, stop opening and wait.
If you get an Lf4, smash thru as many as you can, this works.

Open small amounts of booty at spaced intervals of time. unless you get somethin good, then tear thru them.


Don't ask why, just do it.
