  1. Well is it?...No one is going to play now....All maps are empty..Except EIC, however, even EIC is empty..

well if you think maps are empty, simply move eic where you say eic have more players than the other 2 companys and then the maps wont be so empty no more if you spend all your time in your own company maps :p

I would suggest that the title of the thread and the post is not really related to the poll.

and the poll question is a bit obscure.

    However
From my experience of studying player data on DO for the last few years, I would guess that these latest issues and the significantly reduced player numbers compared to the hay days of DO is not going to deter many of the hard core players.

With regard to If (changing the question slightly) BP/DO misleads there customers and potential customers, then I would have to vote:- Yes.

We only need to look at the landing page to see how DO is deliberately misleading:-

    "over
80 million active players blast off each and every day. "

We all know there has never been remotely close to 80 mill active players on a single day.
It is questionable if there has even been 1 mil players blasting of on the same day, even in the game hay days on all servers it would be closer to a few 100k Max.

  4. I think it isn't the end of DarkOrbit.

They have some problems that the will solve it on Monday latest.

And the 85million players are the official "registration value" and not the "daily-value".

Hi Julius-816-, it may be you need to reread the statement, which I have already significantly highlight the relevant part above, but I will try to emphasise it further just for you.

    "over 80 million
active players blast off each and every day. "

On what level / how do you consider the statement, not being related to a "daily-value"?

Just so you can check it out for yourself, here is one of the DO landing pages web address:-

    http://www.gb1.bigpoint.darkorbit.com/

and here is the relevant statement:-

Join the Epitome of an Online Community

What truly makes DarkOrbit unique, setting it apart from the competition is one thing: You! While other browser games claim to be multiplayer, they simply cannot hold a flame to DarkOrbit’s massive community: over 80 million active players blast off each and every day. Thanks to You and yours, DarkOrbit is the premiere cult online space games. Join the skirmish today alongside millions of space pilots or stand against floes of imposing enemies determined to see out your destruction. Arm your weapons and remain ready – with danger lurking at every turn, a moment’s hesitation can be the difference between success or failure.
    What truly makes DarkOrbit unique;
is they are prepared to make such exaggerated claims ( false advertising ) and continue to display it even months if not a year or more after it was pointed out as being totally misleading.

  6. The current value could be "50 million players" or less.

I will count every number on every server. Then I have the current value of DO.

You do not need to count them I have already tabulate the data:-

With reference to my Server Stats Thread
Accepting there are a limited number of IP area restricted servers we can't access, from the 58 servers we can get access to there is closer to 100k-200k "active players blast off each and every day."
It is nowhere near 80mil or the 50mil you guess may be possible.

Doubtful, the poll itself doesn't make any sense considering the threads title, the game has gone sour for most but some still play because they've invested so much time and/or money that they just couldn't quit and for others it can still be fun every once and awhile. This is just a bad point in DO history and to make this better, they could fix the today's problems and compensate every player that lost game time/drone's/boosters/etc.

We can hope they will, just because the server has issues doesn't mean the game is dead, it still makes plenty of money and they certainly wouldn't want the server broken on the MHH.

  9. If you use your common sense or imagination you will understand, less players..Less sales, more disgruntled customers...It could spell the beginning of the end? Moreover, that's what the poll is for, for example; all the brilliant updates, so called lots of players...All to no avail!! I'd say it may be that it's misleading? Because for two weeks there has been a number of problems (no uri from aliens .e.t.c) but DO claims everything is 100% and the game has been enhanced...
    Has it indeed?

If that was true then the beginning of the end was a few years in the past.

  11. More like the beginning of the end..
In my opinion the current back page issues are inexcusable!
Yep there may of been 50 million users .. but they are only
    registered players, not active players
Take away the current users who registered other noob acc
or created multiple chat acc's then its not that many
(+ the 10000's that were created by users boosting to get the special
goli design with the add a friend promotion)

  12. Lol...The LF4 event is on and we can't even click on the buy booty function?..That isn't misleading is it?
    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You can tell how many peeps play from the minute amount of votes lol!!

You need to consider that this is not stateing a non fact by stateing 80 million players our on each day if you look at all the big point games that are on line / where it becomes misleading is haveing dark orbit players reading this with out telling them that this is 80 million from all the games and not just dark orbit

  16. its not dead because as long as players spend regularly(like me) it will stay alive

  17. The End.. Damn.. and I havent even grown my Hair back.. Stupid Barber..

If you Want everything today or by Tomorrow, yeah.. Its the end. for you

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:
I have truly considered all aspects of the statement.

    Lets Look at the Paragraph:-

What truly makes DarkOrbit unique 1*, setting it apart from the competition is one thing: You! While other browser games claim to be multiplayer , they simply cannot hold a flame to DarkOrbit’s massive community:2* over 80 million active players blast off each and every day. Thanks to You and yours, DarkOrbit is the premiere cult online space games. Join the skirmish today alongside millions of space pilots or stand against floes of imposing enemies determined to see out your destruction3*. Arm your weapons and remain ready – with danger lurking at every turn, a moment’s hesitation can be the difference between success or failure.
1* These opening words Clearly and unambiguously, define the paragraph as being directly and singularly relating to DarkOrbit.

2* These words Clearly and unambiguously link the statement solely to DarkOrbit.

3* This sentence even implies that today and therefore every day. There are millions of players that have battles with millions on each side of the battles. As it also implies that each day you can join or stand against these millions.
This sentence is even more misleading! As at best ever, there was significantly less that 10k players on a single server at any one time, let alone fighting in a battle on the same side.
These days you would be hard pressed to find a hunting party of more than 50 players with even less opponents in a single skirmish.
So even if we perceive it to only refer to 2 million players on one side
reality equates to only 0.0005% of the stated minimum. Or 500,000 time less players than the minimum suggested by that statement.

The over 80mil does not in anyway relate to other BP games.
    So your point
"reading this with out telling them that this is 80 million from all the games and not just dark orbit" Is inaccurate also.
I have not checked, but would suggest that the combined current total BP game users, is likely to be massively less than 80 million.
